1.
This week ~ an image from my Panasonic LX-7. I have the EVF and the lens adapter (so I can use a CP filtre). Those two items transformed the LX-7 into a truly, super, little camera!
The scene is Great Falls in Smokey Hollow near Waterdown Ontario, Canada. Height of the falls is about 10 meters.

Cheers! 4.
Here's a couple of images shot on Saturday at a local Show & Shine. EOS M(IR) + EF-s 10-22.
I am learning that automobiles (and other sheet-metal-clad objects ~ like aluminum canoes) seem to radiate a lustre, in the near-infrared spectrum, that is not apparent in the visible light spectrum. I need to do some research on this idea. Have any of you IR shooters experienced this?

Cheers! 11.
If I had Any doubts about which super tele focal length I wanted, I would rent some lenses before I bought one:

http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/canon/lenses/supertelephoto

They are expensive to rent ($50.00 -> $100.00+ per day), but, compared to the purchase cost of the lenses you mentioned, it is a small price to pay for real world experience.

Cheers! Jay

 16.
"Am I better off with no IS and a fast shutter speed?"
Since you didn't mention the shutter speeds you were using, I assume, from your last statement, that you use slower shutter speeds when you use IS.

IS only compensates for camera motion. It does not compensate for subject motion. So, if you are shooting subjects which are in motion you need to select an appropriately fast shutter speed (one that is fast enough to "stop" subject motion).

If you type "shutter speed guide" into a search window (google etc) you should find lots of info on the appropriate shutter speeds to use in different situations.

Hope this helps.

Cheers! Jay

 19.
Sanford:
I sent the camera to lifepixel.com for the IR mod. I opted for their "Standard" IR, sensor filter (720 nm ~ equivalent to a Hoya R72 lens filter).
Cheers! Jay

 22.
Consider the Lytro Illum, light field, camera. I would call it a bridge camera. It has a 30-250 f2.0 zoom (yes...a constant f2.0 zoom). Plenty of control and not too expensive (about $1500.00).

It also has some special attributes that could spark new directions in creativity. A good carry-everywhere camera.

Cheers! Jay
