Again, just a couple of things but first let me say that I think all these images are interesting and fun and that I am jealous of the setting... :-) I'm not incredibly fond of the foreshortening, though if the intent was to show off the ring then you have achieved your goal. The hand and the face compete with one another for my attention. I keep looking at her high waistline and wishing the dress looked more fitted, seems a bit loose to me, however that is just my preference, not really a comment on the image quality. .....Sherle
  1. Love the outfits, the setting and the composition... wow! Just a couple of little things from me, I wish the rope to the right of the stairs wasn't in the image. The hands seem to be a bit awkward to me, it seems like the girl on the upper stair should be "helping" the other girl up the stair, thus the upper girls hand seems that it would have worked better if it had been held up rather than down and the lower girls hand would have rested in hers, like she was being helped. I'm not real fond of the highlights on the stairs, though I'm not sure there is anything you could have done about it, they seem to compete for attention with the girls. .....Sherle

Thank you Dror, this was photographed on b&w film with a 4x5 camera. I had a ball working with the camera and the lighting. This is also one of my favorites, but I often think I should have done this one vertically. Thank you again. .....Sherle

A masterful piece of work here, this fits in my personal category of some of the best images I have ever seen. It somehow seems to fill my soul with beauty! What a lovely vision. .....Sherle

Hi Roger, thank you so much for stopping by and commenting... and I don't think you are rude, I had that same thought when I first saw these in the computer. Sadly I wasn't near the tulip field any more. However I have set up some visits to some local flower farms and will work on getting the backgrounds without anything in the foreground. Should be tons of fun!! Thank you again. .....Sherle

Thanks again Tony... I'm planning on photographing more of these "backgrounds", but making them the only thing in my shot and then getting them printed on canvas... Then my daughter and I will add some paint to add to the impressionistic idea. It will be an experiment, but it should be fun! .....Sherle

Thank you for the critique Tony, I love the background as well and will be working to create the look as often as possible. .....Sherle

    Hi Roger,

Thank you so much for stopping by, I wish I had more time on here, but school will be out May 8th. After I brought these images into the computer I fell in love with the backgrounds, but I was already away from the tulip farm. However I am planning more trips to flower farms to try the technique again. Wonderful as always to hear from you. .....Sherle

This is the absolute best image I have ever seen of a crocus, extremely well done! I am re-inspired to explore the world and its tiny details. .....Sherle
  2. Beautiful composition and a well thought out idea with excellent lighting. If I might suggest you work on the background just a bit, either more light in the initial exposure or edit to remove the light smudges of color, since I'm assuming you wanted a white background. I know its not smudges on my monitor as I have moved the image about to check. .....Sherle

Thank you Cynthia Jean, I love the colors and wish I had taken some without anything in focus while I was there, but I will keep it in mind for next time.
