  1. Very nice shot Ben, The B and W version in my opinion works better.

Nice composition and really gives a feel for the place. My only very slight issue is the dark sky at the top left which does tend to draw the eye away. But still a very enjoyable piece of work.

    Well done

    Great shot Fiertek,

Love the way the shape of the rock compliments the cloud formation and the way the brooding sky gives the image an ominous feel.

    Very nicely done!

    Very nice shot Andrea,

Love the ethereal feel, althought he top left is very slightly(very slightly) distracting IMO.

    Still a great image !

A nice shot Dieter, I would however have been tempted to crop of the bottom 3rd to give more dominance to the s shaped dune in the middle.

    Just my thoughts!

    Nice shot

Looks to me like it is definately flare from the moon, caused by "less than perfect optics", either cause of dust/muck on or in the lens or poor quality optics/coatings. preety normal really!

    Nice shot tho.

  2. I quite like the effect, how long was the exposure?.

I would be tempted to take some off the top in the form of a crop. (think it holds together better) But still think this is a good image.

    Railway (sepia)

    Hi Darius, some interesting comments!

My own feeling, having looked at the 3 images is that the blue toned image definately works. I find that it addis to the mood of the image and indeed does portray a cold and somewhat bleak message. I , myself have only just started to look at toning of my images and must admit that the post above has made me think twice about where and when to use it!

In a nutshell though the blue works for me and enhances the B and W version. IMO the sepia is less effective than either of the other two.

    Kindest Regards

  3. Nice shot Ricardo,

This very deserving of the mono treatment although I wonder whether a blue toned image might have conveyed the coldness of the mood to a greater degree. ( not that toning is one of my strong points i have yet to get to grips with it!)

great composition and perfect exposure though.

    Nice one

    Soft water

This is nice. The long exposure has rendered the water a nice soft texture and again exposure and sharpness are good. The best of your images in my opinion.

    Keep on posting!

I agree with the above comment, and without knowing what was left of the image I would have to say i would have rotated the camera left and had the white water further into the image. This however dosen't take into account that there could for all i know have been a line of dustbins to the left that would not have helped the image!

The exposure and sharpness are very good though.

Hope you don't mind my comments!

Another great shot Phil. Love the dynamic composition.

I agree with your 3/3 comment !! Why can't all ratings be attributable on this site? I know photography is sometimes personal and that some people have different views on what makes a good image and a great image, but how can someone rate this as below average??? Incredible.

    Keep up the good work

    Mira,

As with most of your landscapes the dark side prevails. How are you toning in photoshop? This is an area I have yet to get to grips with so any advise would be recieved gratefully.

Love the composition of this one
