Just as a start . The FUJI GW690III has no interchangeable lenses .

I have the GW690III with the EBC FUJINON 3,5/90mm and it is a great camera .

The rangefinder is not as good as I expected . The little field , where you get the vertical

lines to match is very small . So I aquired an additional rangefinder from FOTOMAN , which

is a rebuilt unit from an older VOIGTLĎDER design from the years after WW2 .

The weight of that camera is about 1600 gr. and therefore only slightly heavier than a

    HASSELBLAD .

I think it is a very good camera for landscape shooting , but I use it also for other

    purposes .

There can't be any reviews yet , as the scanner is not on the market .

I have ordered one and will recieve it at the end of October . I do not doubt the quality as I

already have the 1800F , as a scanner for large format , and I never had any trouble with that

    scanner .

The Super Angulon 6,8/90 has an image circle of 216mm .

When using the 4x5 format you can shift the lens in vertical direction for 42mm (V=42)

and in horizontal direction for 37mm (H=37) .

When using the 5x7 format the shift amount values are much smaller (V=6 and H=4)

So , if you want to use the lens for 5x7 for architecture , you have very little lens

    movements possibilities .

About the price I can't say anything . Sorry .

    Regards Jürgen

I had a phonecall with Martin Vogt about 3 weeks ago .

Currently in FRANCE most people are in Holiday .

I know about this problem , and delayed my order for the sliding adapter.

Martin stated , that they are working on the problem . I do not know what they are going

to do about this problem .

Philip Vogt , his father , is a genius in designing mechanical components , is working on

    this problem .

I , myself are interested to get a solution . But ARCASWISS is a very small company (15

people) so this will last . I can not tell how long it will take . Sorry for you and for me .

    Best regards Jrgen

  6. Thanks Robin

For that interesting news . BTW , Robert White is a good and qualified place to buy gear .

I bought the ARCA-SWISS geared head CUBE C1 from him . The only place , where it was

available in the EU . Good and fast service .

Do you know , how many 135m lenses were built ? ? ? What was the matching process ? ? ?

Thanks for your very extensive post .

I am using the MICROTEK 1800f scanner since ages to scan my 4x5 inch B/W negatives .

The supplied SilverFast software is suffient enough and I always scan all negatives ,

regardless of their size with the maximum resolution of 1800 ppi .

Photoshop will then calculatete the maximum print size (without interpolation , which i do

not like ) using either 360 dpi or 300 dpi .

With that method I obtain good to very good results ( depending on negative size ) .

From 6x9 and 6x12 negatives I obtain very good print results up to 20x40 cm .

I appriciate what you post , but I dislike interpolation because my tests have never shown

satisfying results with any kind of interpolation . You just can't replace not existing image

    information .

Thanks again for your posting .

Nice shots , with an unusal perspective through the branches.

4x5 is a fantastic format , especially for B/W using the ZONE SYSTEM .

Pherhaps , we will see even more images from other photographers .

    Looking forward .

Great image . I have done mostly B/W in the past and was more or less just thinking in B/W .

But since I have a CFV back for my 203FE , I have discovered colour again .

In the moment , we have pouring rain here , since 2 days , and then the water is somewhat

brown . But when the rain has stopped , 2 days later , then its the time for flowing water

images . Waiting for the moment .

I use a 905SWC and don't experience any vignetting when using film backs .

I also use a CFV digital back with it . So why should I experience vignetting there ? ? ? as the

the sensor size is much smaller than the film size is ? ? ? For me , there is no question , which

lens to be used between the CFI 40mm or the BIOGON 38mm . It is the BIOGON .
