Water is a major problem in Ethiopia. This boy carries water in order to save money for his schooling.

Hi, thanks for the question. Ethiopia is one of the poorest countries in the world, with many people living on the streets of Addis Ababa, hoping to sell something to eke out a living.As can be seen on the photo, the woman is trying to sell a few onion sprouts. On why she is 'sleeping' on the pavement? - I suppose she was tired.

On a recent research visit to the University for Addis Ababa in
Ethiopia, I had the opportunity to experience some images of the
city. The pictures in the porfolio are just that: some images.
I borrowed a colleague's camera for the day: an old digital Canon
IXUS V2.
Mother and Child 1 - Addis Ababa The love and tenderness of the woman lying on the pavement with her child gripped this photographer. This is not a picture speaking only of dire and desperate circumstances, but also of the wonder of a mother's love.
