Is it possible for a photoshopper to note: "Thank you for your comments and critiques..... on my photoshopping", instead of making (some) of us believe this might have been a wonderful 'true photo', e.g. of a restored ship/replica taken out to open sea on an historical day (but with blowing sails on calm water)? Or was the date '1625 - 1628' an indication that the photographer was not around in the 17th century, though the photographer/photoshopper was in the 21st century? Or should there have been some information on the photoshopping in the section: Manipulated? Would like to read views on this issue. Thanks. asdeb

It is again one of THOSE pictures! At first sight you are impressed because you know you will never be able to take something similar strikingly. Then you realise: Oh, this is not (only) about photography, but about photoshop ability. Well, then the next question arises: What about a new nose, and a longer beard (after all, those are only stubbles). And since the eyes are crucial, should the colour not be changed to piercing blue, etc etc.? But, then again, it is a photo that has people sitting up-right. And it is daunting.

OK, yet another sun set, but this one over Table Mountain in Cape

Town is rather unusual, as thunder clouds to not visit this part of

the world that much. R/C will be appreciated - especially on how to

improve. Please view in large format.

Ek weet dit raak nou afgesaag, maar waar val die 3/3-mense uit die bus? Is hulle deur die blare of met die reenmis gepla?

Ja-nee, hier is dit nog duideliker - die tipografiese element is te sterk en lei die oog weg van die foto.

Ek hou van die swart buite-raam se proporsies, asook die netjiese wit binne-raam. Maar ek sou die albei die beskrywings in 'n ietwat kleiner font maak, bv. die 'Spier' oordonder m.i. nou eintlik die figuur in die deurraam. Maar die geheel is treffend.

Aai, hierdie 3/3-outjies maak my kniee lam.

Ek wonder hoekom hou die p.n.-mense nie van die foto nie. dalk omdat 'n mens te gou kan kan sien dit is 'n trap? sou dit anders gewees het as die hoek laer was sodat 'n mens nie die eerste trap kon raaksien nie?

I agree, though too realistic for Van Gogh, it has that 'stange' feeling of eeriness, but also peace and calmness as noted above. Best.
