Beautiful B.C. Here again you perfectly captured the light and the mood of Paris, and northern France. I can say that this sky is a little bit mine as I see it everyday, exactly as you captured it!
-
There's a great light in this one, Lou Ann. A beautiful coast that reminds me a little of a French region called Le Cotentin, in the North of Normandy. A very nice shot!

The light and colours are simply gorgeous in that picture. This is a great photographer's job! I think I agree about cloning out the fourth windmill in the background. The biggest three make a tremendous composition!

Beautiful abstract feeling, Lou Ann. I really like this picture very, very much. The choice of a subject, composition, framing and colours are all perfect. I love the association of the deep blue and the white ( two of my favourite colours!)
-
My favourite too, Lou Ann! A wonderful picture in every respect! Congratulations!

Hello Lou Ann. I'm back from my long holiday, during which I only posted a few pictures between trips. I'm glad to be back and meet again dear PN friends!
I really like this picture, Lou Ann. The country green and red work beautifully against the grey sky. I went to Hamburg last October with my wife and a group of students, and we visited an outdoor ecological museum where old farms and windmills from the 17th, 18th and 19th Century had been transplanted. It was near the Danish border, not very far from Kiel, and we had the same countryside and sky. BTW, I have a picture of an old windmill taken there which is quite similar to yours ( I'll try to post it for you!).

What a gorgeous sunset and landscape! A.K., you beautifully captured for us the splendour of mother nature before our always amazed eyes!

Beautiful photograph, A.K., I like the original subject, composition, impressive perspective and colours, the colours!
-
A great photograph Bruno, very moving. The tones and contrast are beautiful.

I think it must be a 19th C town theatre. It probably still belongs to the city, I guess. The statue on the left is Moliere, Racine is on the right and in the middle... Yes! I wonder whether it would be Bizet that stands for Opera?

A great capture, Lou Ann. The colours are simply gorgeous!

My pleasure, Lou Ann. Normandy is another region I like so much. You know, my wife comes from Normandy! So, we often go to Normandy to visit the family, and these are places I know very well. The beaches, of course, are so moving. So many brave men that had the extraordinary courage to fight and die for liberty there. Did you visit the Memorial museum for Peace in Caen? A great place. I wish you a great Independence Day, Lou Ann.
Warmest regards, Laurent.

This is a great series, Laurent. Your use of motion blur is perfect. I find this one really humourous, in so far as the blur makes the little kid really look like a character from a cartoon.

A beautiful door, Alsace is next to the German border and was historically French and German in turn. A lot of the Alsacian architecture is of German inspiration. These beautiful, imposing doors from the 17th century are a good example of the German influence. Beutiful shot. I like it. Higher contrast enhances the details, I guess. Congratulations, Lou Ann. You really brought beautiful pictures back from France. It is a pleasure to read your threads, and a great opportunity to learn about photography too. Kindest regards, Laurent.

Well, I have my answer. It was NOT la Comedie Francaise in Paris, but a beautiful 19th C. town theater. Very nice.

Ah! Les Gorges de l'Ardeche. Lou Ann, I spent a few days there last summer and took photos of the place. If you ever caught a glimpse of a funny Frenchman with a D2X trying to capture this beautiful scenery and risking his life bending over the gap, it must have been me! A beautiful rendition, Lou Ann, which definitely does justice to the place.
-
Beautiful, Lou Ann. Those 19th Century houses for the Bourgeois and notables are typical. Very well seen.
-
A beautiful detail, very representative of that wonderful light we have in the summer in France, and of the medieval castles you can find all over the country. This one is beautiful. BTW, I live near Paris, but my family name, Lacoste, is originated in the Dordogne region, in Perigueux. I was in the Burgundy region last summer, and visited wonderful castles and abbeys and cathedrals from the middles-ages.

Hello, Lou Ann, is this the front of the Comedie Francaise in Paris, or some other theater? A symbol of classical drama in France, Moliere for comedy, Racine for Tragedy and I don't remember the third character right now? A well-chosen subject for a beautiful photograph. I find B&W an excellent choice.

A beautiful representation of my hometown, Donibane. The colours are outstanding. I particularly like the delicately coloured transparency of the glass on the bateau-mouche, which is like a kaleidoscope, and the inclusion of the gallery of characters in old-fashioned clothes from the 30's. This is pure beauty and a journey into the imaginary and dreams. An incredibly creative picture. I wish I could learn Photoshop!

This one is another great winner. The position of the sun and the reflections on the water create great atmosphere! Your B&W tones are gorgeous. This is a great capture of "l'instant decisif"! It's incredible that you managed to have the two little boys in the same position at the same moment. A great guideline for the eyes!
