    Falling Cat

          4
The cat is actuallly stretching out sideways on the carpet, rolling from side to side. I snapped the shot fairly quickly from directly above which gave me a bit of "motion" and helped create the illusion of falling when turned on end.
  1. Well...I know I will probably offend somebody's sensibilities in saying so.... but I get tired when every image is sharp, austere, rigid, and therefore "perfect." So much of life is seen in flashes and blurs, side-ways glances and near-misses. I want photography to encompass all the possibilities.

I really like the composition and the focal choices. The light reflection (?) on her hair is a little distracting -- especially in the larger image. I love the idea, though.

    Dialog

This is an interesting idea. And I liked the texture much better after viewing large. My one suggestion is that for this to work, I think the headshots need to be positioned so that the mouths are across from each other with a diagonal cross eye contact. These two images look right past each other without seeing. No dialogue.

Decent lighting and composition, but the focal point seems to be on the necklace instead of higher up on the face. The eyes end up looking a little bit cloudy and blurred.

    The Lion of London

I really like this photo, Rob and I think the dramatic lighting effects work well. My first trip out of the country in 1992 was to London, and this was one of my favorite places. Thanks for the nostagia!
