  1. Daniel... Those are windmills in the distance. I did consider removing them but decided against it thinking they weren't too noticeable. I guess people look closer than I think. Thanks for the nice comment.

Stephen...... you back seat driver you...... Honestly it's nice to get a fair opinion. That's why we're here on P.net. I never have tried focus blending but it is something to think about. Actually my 12-24mm has always had great dof. That foreground rock is only about 4 feet from the camera. I focused on the next set of rocks in the frame at f/16. I tried quite a few different comps that I haven't processed yet, some better than this, some not so good. The light was great and seemed to last longer than usual so I was able to move around quite a bit. Thanks for your your critique.

Nice photo.... I do have one little nit pick to point out. Your sky is much darker than its reflection in the water. It should at least be as bright if not a little brighter than its reflection. Otherwise nice composition and colors.

  2. I really like the look of this. The toning makes a difference and I think you chose well. A longer exposure might have smoothed the surface of the water giving it a more otherworldly appearance. I've always liked photos like this. They're uncomplicated and complicated at the same time.

  3. Yes it is. It's out in the no mans land we were discussing in a previous post. I've always shot it at sunrise so thought I would try sunset this time. It got a little too cloudy but I did get a little bit of pink in the sky and the overall light was nice.

  4. Thanks guys. I've tried several times to get this shot which involves climbing down the hill a bit off of the Sun Road in order to get these foreground trees in line. I've never had much luck shooting into the sun. I dropped a small piece off of my tripod which rolled down hill of course and in the process of looking for it my tobacco fell out of my shirt pocket which of course rolled even further down into the alder bushes. I got bit up by bugs and scratched up by the brush pretty good by the time I crawled back up to my tripod. It's a wonder I wound up with a photo at all.

Gorgeous image Huseyin...... I'm glad you emphasized the yellows and green in the mosses on the rocks. These colors compliment your overall tone very effectively and along with great composition you have a real winner here.

  5. Beautiful composition Alf..... Viewing full screen really brings it to life. There is much character in this tired old boat which seem to be waiting for enough water to lift it from the mud in order to get back to work. Nice light and wonderful sky as well. Congratulations.
