1.
I have tried their critique service recently and although the paid critique from one of the pros (Sara Constanca) was excellent, the customer service for the website is non-existent. After several e-mails attempting to resolve an issue with an offered free critique, I have given up on the site. Anyone else have a similar experience?

 2.
Technological tools are just that - tools. The photograph is the art. If a photograph is deemed art by at least one person, then the photographer is an artist.
Is a fine art painter also a pigmentologist? Is a sculptor who works with clay also a mineralogist? Why is photography different in your mind to raise this question?
Also, a technologist would be someone who studies technology. A technician is someone who uses it.

 3.
Perhaps the total number of outstanding photos posted has declined slightly in recent years, but IMO a greater impact is the dilution of image quality caused by the increasing number of beginners posting photos here on PN. I think they are trying in earnest to improve, but their increasing numbers has resulted in more and more beginner quality photos posted, especially in the Critique Forum. This is not a bad thing as PN is designed to help foster the development of all levels of photographers, but perhaps it has caused a relative decline in the ratio John mentioned. Helping those rank beginners improve is becoming more difficult due to the sheer number of photos posted for critique. I have recently slowed way down in my critiquing due in part to this phenomenom.

 4.
The initial impact of the site is good, but I would consider changing the background from black to gray. It's easier on the viewer's eyes. You have some interesting photos on your site, but I would limit the posting of photos to only your very best if your primary goal is to attract buyers. You could also consider creating tabs for different genres of photos, instead of dumping them all in one place. I maintain a website for our camera club using Wordpress and have figured out how to add more tabs under the header photo (http://www.chicocameraclub.org/blog/), although it depends on which theme you have chosen.

 5.
Welcome to PN. This is a great resource for photographers of all levels. The photos as well as the forums are a wonderful repository of information and inspiration. And don't forget to use the search function to find answers to questions that may have been addressed already.

 6.
Welcome to PN. This is a great resource for photographers of all levels, including pros. Keep in mind that the more you contribute, the more benefit you will receive. And Daniel is right. The search function is very useful. There is already a wealth of information stored in the archives.

 7.
Nicely done, Arnold. Well organized but simple and easy to navigate. A nice way to document a lifetime of dedication to your photography. I also enjoyed your blog and found it very instructive. I have bookmarked your site to re-visit for inspiration. Thanks for sharing your website and your photography.
