  1. Wonderful. It is great to see the nude portrayed in a "light" and fun fashion. The comfort of the model makes this work very well. The lighting works well here, showing just enough shadows. I do, however, find my attention distracted a bit by the strait line in the wood floor, which happens to be just under her toes. If I start at the bottom of the image, the foot leads up the photo, just as it should. But at that same point, the oblique line brings me to the sofa, and another solid perpendicular line that brings me to the wall.

    Nicely done.

The pose here is great. A very flexible model to say the least, but you have used this well. The pose gives an almost abstract feeling to the image. Again, nicely done.

Of course you are right, Tomek; it is only a question of preference. And that is the beauty of online forums - you get to hear many opinions, consider them, and then decide for yourself. This is an image I'd would be happy to have in my portfolio. Well done.

Wonderfully posed and lit. The parallel lines on the forelegs make this image for me. The bracelet on the model's right arm is ever so slightly distracting. Well done.

  2. Compositionally, this is very nice. The lines and the position of the mouth really work well here. I do find the green background does give a strange tone to the model's skin. I'm wondering if this would work better in black and white.

    Nicely done.

  3. Very nice!.. and eeerie. Nice use of lighting. I like the idea that the texture has been used in an image, rather than simply an image of texture. Well done PT. Like Onyo, I think the upper left highlight is too hot, but that is a minor nit pick.

  4. I like the shot itself, but I'm undecided as to theme fit. There is certainly pattern there, but I don't really get "texture" from this. On the composition side of things, I kind of wish the top and the right side were more balance. Nice shot in anycase,

I like this image, PT. What is it? The seemingly random texture makes me guess this is ice shot in macro. In any case, it is a nice abstract that fits the theme well.

This is very nice PT. There is a large variety of textures here, all of which are well shown. Although I quite like the monotone, I'd be curious to see the colour version. Would bright colours in the rope detract from the texture? Are the eyelets rusty? Possibly...

    Well done PT,

I am a big fan of "faces" in clouds, so this works well for me. There is definately a cotton-like texture to this image. This being said, I think that to emphasize the "texture" large cumulonimbus clouds may have worked better. Well done PT.

Very nice texture in the sand. I'm not sure I like the leaf, however. It is not a question of placement, I just think this image, especially given the theme, would be better without the leaf. In any case, well done PT,

Nearly everything has been said already, so I'll just echo some. First off, well done PT. In terms of crop, I do like Seven's approach. From a conceptual interpretation, you are so "on the spot" that the numbers on the outside edge are completely un important.

  5. Very nice theme fit, and the composition and choice of B&W really work for me. I don't mind the shallow focus. For me it is a way to guide my eyes. If it were all sharp, we would have no obvious reason for looking at this photo top to bottom or bottom to top. As is, I was drawn to the sharp bottom, with my eyes moving up into the "softness". Well done PT.

Nice image, PT. The theme fit is immeadiately obvious. As for crop, I quite like it as is, because I beleive the intent is to contrast the texture of the carpet to that of the leather heel. On the other hand, seeing the whole shoe may have added another texture, that of the sole. In anycase, well done.

I like the contrast between the highly textured rocks and the very smooth rocks. Having both side by side increases the texture theme for me. Well done PT. On the technical side, the very bright white background does take away from the image. I would be curious to see what this would look like against a deep blue sky. I think if the rocks have splashes of red and/or yellow, a blue background could add much to the image.

The higher contrast version does work better, IMHO. The original, however works as well. I quite like the bottom of the image, which to me, also has much texture, but a different texture than the brick.

Second version for me as well. On the tech side, I've nothing more to add. On the theme side, it is really cool that you have caught a "visual texture", which clearly fits the theme. For me texture is usually associated with feeling, such as the texture of food or the texture of clothing and such. The challenge for this theme of course is to convey this feeling with an image. Here my eyes see texture I would never feel. Well done PT.

Very nice, PT. Yet again I'm kicking myself for not acting more quickly on my idea. I have a similar patterned "glass", mine from an automobile's headlight. Is this what we're looking at? In any case, I like the reflections, and the reflexion gradient that goes to the dark side. Well done,

Nicely done, PT, I quite like the "photographer's" reflexion on the stem. My favorite is the original image, can't really explain why, it's just preference.
