  1. This looks like the end of the line.

This is the place where people get off of the Greyhound bus with a single suitcase held together with duct-tape and try hard not to look too conspicuous to the shifty-eyed locals as they look in vain for an address long abandoned by the ex-lover who still holds the key to the mystery.

Somewhere someone's plastic am radio is plying "Goodbye Porkpie Hat" by Charles Mingus.

A mangey dog follows you around, keeping its distance, scratching fleas.

  2. No, then it would look like just another snapshot that had been over-PSed to look "old" but fools no one. The pages of Photonet are filled with such pedestrian cliches.

With the lines in place, the integrity of your vision remains pure. This is an honest document of a particulat time and place in your life.

  3. This is as pretty much good as it gets Kellen. Every element of this photograph is perfect. There are no faults to be seen. Your composition is perfectly balanced. You have graduated from Andy School.

I am really very proud of you.

This is just so very very excellent. Good placement of the pavement in the over-all composition. To my eye, this has an almost perfect asymetric balance.

No more waxing cars -- go kick some ass!

  4. Nice work here. Very good stuff indeed. I have seen this area from the air many times in the past, but it doesn't look the same here as when you are passing over at 36000 feet.

This is a very rich photograph and one you should be proud of.

  5. Yes I do. And you can as well. Get yourself a piece of red, yellow or orange glass (like a filter) and look through it. Then you will see a red, yellow or orange version of a B&W photo. Try it sometimes; it really works.
  6. What a beautiful place. I think a person could find a bit of inner peace in such a tranquil location, even if for just a short time.

This is one of the best photos I have ever seen of yours Kellen.

  7. I keep coming back to this photograph as I picture myself looking across the expanse toward the distant escarpment. It draws my eye into it and I mentally wander about the scene. In that, this is a very successful piece of photography.

Nice work Kellen! To my eye there is just a bit too much "sepia" toning, but other than that this composition is rather well done. The irony of the sign juxtaposed upon the wasted field makes for a very enigmatic work of photography.
