I received the same message from Norton when opening the photo.net homepage.

Thanks Josh. I've worked at getting them flat, but some emulsions just seem to want to curl up again. I'd prefer to make sure they are flat to the extent possible.

Brian (or others), can you point to some effective aftermarket film holders? Slides and medium format seem to be fine but I'm struggling a bit with 35mm B&W and color negative. Keeping it flat is a struggle. I picked up a refurbished Epson 4490 for $109 shipped and it seems to work fine for what I wanted it for.

Any idea how it can be viewed in the US?

Matthew, I have a OM 50mm 1.4 that is is a 1.1M+ serial number. I have 5 Oly 50's so parting with one won't kill me. I have not done any comparisons and have been plenty happy with pics from any of those I owned. Shoot me an e-mail off-line if interested.

There's been a bit of talk about it of late, particularly when it first came out. The above were from a quick search but may yield something of interest. Some of the original posters from the other threads may jump in with further results.

I'm glad the F100 is holding up for you. I wish I still had it. I always have seller's remorse.

Similar to Matt I coiled mine and used a small "zip strip" to attach it to the tripod leg (not too tightly) and cut off the excess. I like the velcro idea so you can remove it more easily but I constantly catch velcro on everything. If I wanted to remove mine I simply cut the strip and reattached it when ready. Small bags of the zip strips can be purchased for next to nothing.

Since I'm planning on trying that combination on sunday for a bunch of rolls...your post is timely. Just to clarify, you are continuously agitating for the first 30 seconds. Are you doing inversions each minute thereafter?

Also received the e-mail and it is a shame. JPG seemed to cover a wide range of interests and received input from people just taking pictures.

I don't think the camera position poses a problem. I have the lowepro and while the idea is good for access to the camera, I don't find the bag very comfortable if worn all day. It isn't designed so you can change shoulders.

You might do a search as this question came up some time ago. There may be some helpful information in that thread. We toured the school when my son was looking a few years ago. They spend some money on equipment (top computers at the time, printers, scanners, darkroom, etc.). The faculty said their photography students don't touch digital until about year 3. Whether that is still the case I don't know. Times are changing quickly now. I have no idea about graduate success in finding employment.

Thanks Jeff. Had to try it. It was quite easy.

A brief google search didn't say but the 120 film pack should list it somewhere. Look for "E6" which is color slide, C41 which is standard color print processing. They might include black and white film that takes standard C41 processing. I would assume it would be C41 of some type.

I have the 28mm 3.5 and while mine performs well (sharp, small, etc.) I often wish it were faster. The viewfinder image is noticeably more dim. If you can swing it I'd follow the advice above and get the faster version. Since the results are in the pictures, I don't think you'll be disappointed either way but sometimes it's better just to save a bit longer and purchase the lens you were really after in the first place.

No spotify account here. I did not get the notification when coming back to photo net. It retrospect, I may have received the Norton alert when accessing the Unified forum page, but I had not traveled farther then that.

thanks Josh.
