Durr,
You're not contemplating retiring your M6 are you? I always enjoy looking at photos made with equipment that isn't "traditionally" used for that purpose. Your mountain shots fall into that category. And no, I don't want this interpreted as a film vs. digital thing.

Luis, I particularly liked "Meditation". The selective-desaturation is interesting. I don't think it works as well for all the images, but in the right context it certainly give the shots a different feel.

It's actually IMHO: In My Humble Opinion

It appears to be one of the varieties of vulture that are fairly common in many areas.

If you search google I'm sure you can find many examples. The specific species would depend on what part of the world you live.

Very nice Craig. What film were you using?

Gabe, I think that pic was with my good old Nikon 105mm AI on a D200. I'd have to check the exif to be sure (wrong computer again). Probably at ISO 800.

Tim, I used to live in Pierre. It's a quality of life thing that you can't explain to others unless they've lived there. Sorry, I'm on the wrong computer to share volleyball pics.

I have 8x10 prints from a D1 taken several years ago that still look quite nice. Is it up to the standards set by newer cameras, of course not. If you want a pro body for durability sake I would at least bump up a generation or two (D1x?). As mentioned above the battery would be an issue. As Shun said, they all can break if they're dropped.

There may be Nikon vs. Canon thing going on but whoever makes those tan vests apparently has no competition.

Ian e-mail me offline. I have two MD4's and I'm really not using them much. If you want to pay shipping, I'll send you one and you can try it out. If you want to keep it and its working for you, a small payment and its yours. If you don't think it works for you, ship it back. I'm not sure where you're located. I'm in the US.

50mm f/1.4D
in Nikon
Joseph, thanks for that information. I wasn't aware of that and never checked when changing lenses. I need to follow Michael's advice and read the manual, including those hidden gems. -
Hey Michael that's cheating. I had to try and form complete sentences. Yours is probably a better idea though.

50mm f/1.4D
in Nikon
Call me stupid but I still use and prefer to use the aperture ring on the lens. I just never got used to using the wheel on the body. Too many old cameras I guess. It's one of the reasons I like Nikon cameras. -
The limited vs. full switch is used to limit the range in which the lens will focus. It is used to reduce the focus range so that the lens isn't hunting through the entire focus range. In theory it allows faster focusing or acquisition if the lens loses the focus on a subject. As an example, if you were shooting a soccer match and the subjects were 50 feet away. If the focus limit switch is on "limited" and you happen to lose focus on a subject, the lens would not hunt through the entire focus range (including the lens macro range) to reacquire the subject. Not a full explanation but you get the idea.

Like a broken record....100 2.8. Sweet little lens. Attached to an OM-1MD with the nice big viewfinder, yup, that's it.

How about a cool icon for lurking a really long time but not boring people with my opinion?
I can hardly wait....
