1.
Lovely machines. I have three whch still work (and two which don't).

 2.

the only fruit that doesn't require washing

What?

 3.

As of today, it is still NOT legal for a US citizen to travel to Cuba as a tourist

I find it very strange that the alleged 'land of the free' restricts their citizens in this way.

 4.

From the Guardian linked to by Anders: "The illumination of the Eiffel Tower is considered to be a separate artistic installation." So that's how it works.
Wow. That means if you keep changing the artistic lighting installation you have a perpetual copyright on the commercial use of images of a public building. Anyone else feel like something has been stolen in the artistic lighting installation 'process'? "

I would think that the lighting on a building is part of the building, not a separate artwork.

 5.
The Berne Convention has already stated that a photograph of a building does not infringe any copyright in its design (and not many buildings actually enjoy copyright protection). So this would need to change too.

I can't see it happening.

 6.
For me, it depends on the size. For 35mm, it's Agfa APX100, in 120 size, it's Fujifilm Acros and in 5x4 it's Ilford Delta 100.

 7.
Here is my method for making bellows for 5x4 cameras. It might answer some questions.

http://stevesmithphoto.webs.com/bellows.html

 8.
It really depends on how much time you can put into it. It could take years or decades... you might never finish it!

 9.

do you think this is fair use or outright theft?

Neither. It's not fair and it isn't theft.

 10.
I usually use FP4+ but I have recently been using Agfa APX100 in 35mm size as I got a good deal on some. It is very nice in my opinion.

 11.

What we need is a flat diode that can be sandwiched with a silver cell. I'm experimenting with possible materials.

Not a bad idea. There is a cell the same diameter as the normal 1.5v cell (AG13) but thinner (I forget its No.)

It should be possible to make a thin circuit with a surface mount shttky diode to sandwich with a cell to reduce the voltage.

 12.
That's interesting. I have a D3200 which I use with pre AI lenses but I always assumed the screen was fixed.

Now I know better!

 13.

The Nikon F6 was produced mainly for the intent of photographing electricity meter readings in some countries

What's the market for this? A couple of dozen?
The F6, like all professional camera equipment, is mainly bought by amateurs. If only professionals (and meter readers) bought them, they would be uneconomical to make.

 14.

A local store called "The Record Archive" is celebrating a vinyl weekend.

Last year on the BBC news, it was reported that UK vinyl sales were the highest for 15 years. I think film is also having a similar resurgence.
It's never going to be mainstream again, people are too lazy for that and prefer the ease and convenience of digital... but it's not going away either.

 15.

In France, it might be very different though

The perception is that it is different in France but when I looked into it, the reality was that it still only applied to commercial use.

 16.
In most cases, you don't need the subject's permission.

 17.

Be aware that on many cameras, when you use the 'wind on while pushing the rewind release' method, the film may 'jiggle' a little so that the second exposure is not exactly on the same part of the film as the first - close, but not exact.

Taking up the slack on the rewind and holding it whilst 'winding on' might help - but you would probably need three hands!

 18.
I have a C3, a C33 and a C330 and also an original Mamiyaflex. I usually have to find the manual to work out how to open the back door as they are all different.

 19.

As a brit I would have gone for the singular "Nikon has" making Nikon a corporate entity.

Me too. And as we are British, we are obviously correct!!

 20.
What some people refer to as the film look is more likely to be the film gone wrong or the faded film look.

 21.
LEDs are being used for car headlights and street lighting now. Enough of them should give you the light you need.

If not now, then not too far in the future.

 22.

LOL x 1,000!

The sort of commnts FaceBook style 'Like' buttons are needed for!
