  1. This was also a common mod on the CV 40mm Nokton. I never modified mine but saw instructions on the web. A search on modification of 40mm Nokton should bring up instructions. Probably a lot more of these got modified than the Summaron. With the 40 I can’t see the 35 lines without moving my eye around (glasses) so just go with the 50 lines and crop tight.
  2. In this time of social distancing it's OK to touch a tree...... ;-) M4, 21mm Super Angulon
  3. A couple from the archives that seemed appropriate. Masked in the Paharganj area of Delhi 2012 . Both with M4 and 21mm Super Angulon, B&W Tri-X, D76 , Colour FujiPro 400H Wash your hands often ! .........
  4. It looks like the wildlife is coming to me, no need to leave my yard. My back garden is in essence a mini farm with 8 fruit trees and 30 raised garden beds. As in past years the Anna hummingbirds find my pear trees attractive nesting sites. The score is 5 nests in pear trees with only one in an apple tree. This photo is from a few minutes ago, D800E , 150-600 Sigma sport @ 600mm 1/500 @ f/7.1
  5. Kabul, Afghanistan 1976 , Leica 3f 5cm Elmar
  6. I stocked up on paper at a sale long before the present problem. If that should run out will do like the Indians, clean water and LEFT hand followed by a GOOD hand washing. The photo is what you find on an Indian train, careful you don't loose your wallet down the hole while pants are down. ;-)
  7. Keep a safe distance, it could save your life! The gull finally got away after an extended chase all over the sky. A bit of a message for our times, stay safe.
  8. Kathmandu, 1970 ... M4, 50mm Summicron
  9. An idol moment.... M4, 21mm SA
  10. One from earlier in the year that I've been saving for Christmas time.... A humming bird in a pear tree. Like past years there's a shortage of partridges around here. Best wishes for 2020.
  11. Last time I passed through Heathrow was on the way back from India and my carry on held a couple dozen rolls of exposed film. Perhaps it was this that caught their attention? After the X-ray scan my bag got swabbed for explosive residue. We chatted for a few minutes while they ran the sample through a GC-mass spectrometer. When it came back clean I was on my way.
  12. I got rid of my x-100 after upgrading to the S, but seem to remember it having the histogram. The DISP/BACK button on the back toggles the histogram and distance scale on and off. If it gets inadvertently bumped the histogram disappears and you’re left wondering where it went.
  13. You might also try www.rangefinderforum.com They have a big buy and sell section of mainly rangefinder goodies. By coincidence a member there asked if I was interested in selling my 35mm Lux. Where are you located, that could influence potential buyers? Shipping, duties etc.
  14. An Indian alley in the city of Mirzapur.
  15. The bombs from the other end can be washed off the hood of a BMW, not like the dent when they use it as a bombing target for cracking open a clam. Most of the time they use rocks or pavement as targets, but sometimes cars get in the way. I once watched a crow try a similar technique, it kept dropping the clam on a lawn and didn't clue that a hard target was needed.
  16. Here's one of those impossible shots you try after a couple glasses of liquid tripod to steady the hand. A night out to dinner with friends and afterwards a shot outside with the M4 and 40 mm CV Nokton. Exposure was handheld 1/2 second at f/1.4 on Tri-X rated iso 400. I did ask people to hold still, but not everyone complied.
  17. Bomb loaded, ready for takeoff......
  18. Zoom, Zoom...... Hummer acrobatics, territorial display near the feeder.
  19. Bathing festival, India
  20. View from a little bay on Southern Vancouver Island that looks towards Mount Baker. I'm lucky, this is only a 10 minute walk from home.
  21. I've turned my backyard into a mini-farm and wanted some photos from a higher view point. What I needed was really tall tripod. Adding a tripod head to the top of my ten foot tall orchard ladder wasn't too difficult and got the elevation up. These were shot with a 10.5mm fisheye. Yes, that's me peeking from behind the corn. ;-)
