Lovely shot Alex, lovely subject matter and so well executed. Now, I always confuse the two - but it looks like a 908 (904?)out front, and of course a 911 in the back ground...ah, one can dream.

Pfft... Griffon? Elegant? :)
Jokes aside, I am not a big fan of the composites, but I actually like this one. Well done.

You know, Dan, I think you made three points in that post - all of them excellent! Especially the one about the "German pilot" point of view! I think it dawned on me why I found this photo so compelling. Then again, this is not a rare occurance with Alex`s work.

Good works Alex - thi image is so crisp that it almost looks unreal! Good work - the only way I can think to make it better is to replace the Mustang with Spit:)
-
Oh...I see. I almost thought you solarized a photograph and was about to try to see where you went wrong in hopes of constructive criticism... But you didn't SOLARIZE anything. You manipulated some files in a computer to poorly simulate what you think is solarization. Perhaps you care to look up the terms "solarization", "Sabatier effect" and then cross refernce them (you can use your computer to do that) with the term "digital image manipulation". Perhaps then you will be able to refrain from misusing terms and deluding yourself into thinking that you actually know how to do something about which you obviously have no clue.

Another Spitfire never spoils any kind of aesthetic, come on!:)
I personally think that from a graphic stand point, not from that of a Spitfire-a-holic like me, the blurr of the second Spit is actually beneficial to this image. It lends its beautiful silhouette, but doesn`t distract from the foreground interest.

No, Porsche.

I don`t know if its just my monitor, but the foreground is too heavy. Lovely image otherwise, perhaps a crop of the big dark mass up front wold make it even better. And of course, you now have to go out there again with the sun bathing the foregournd - that does not look like a painful thing to do:)
-
Great shot, Alex! And what a find, too - rare trop version, rare wing config... wow. me jelous, as usual!
-
You mean Spitfire and a Hurricane.
And yes, the bottom needs a crop.
-
Great capture, Alex. Truly a shot that goes beyond satisfying just the aerophiles.
-
What can I say other than BEAUTIFUL. Great job, not just at getting the effect, but lovely composition that really conveys the feeling of space.
-
Gromoslaw... uhm... well, yeah... why don`t I leave that to the experts such as yourself:)
-
Lovely shot - great composition, lovely colour - and the prop blurr sets my heart a-flutter!
-
hehehehee:) Very true. A war winning pair of jugs for sure!
-
This is a keeper, Alex! I really can't put my finger on exactly why, but it really stands out and grabs your heart-strings. I think its the lovely highlights on the plaane, with the ominous yet not monolithic background. There, I used up my thesaurus privelages for the week... :)

The thing with KNIGHTHAWKS on it would be a "gas tank" if it contained gas...If it did, I speculate a violent and spectacular explosion would be likely to follow soon:)
It is, however, an auxiliary FUEL tank.
As to the shot, well - its not an award winning portrait of a Hornet, or a particularily good close up due to the lack of sharpness - BUT, it IS a picture that you will always remember taking, it will always take you back to that moment, and in the hearts of all the aviation nuts who see it will always cause a pang of envy because I am sure we would all like to have been standing where you were and have a shot like this of our own. And in my humble opinion, that is far more important than all the technical details.
But that's just one guy's opinion.

So... is this car for sale? What am I missing here...
-
One of the few jets that actually tugs at my heart strings! Nice study of a (dare I say?) classic plane.
-
the prop is standing still :)
-
Great shot! I think everyone who ever saw a Corsair wanted to take this shot - but not many of us get to! Yep - I am jelous!
-
Nice shot - but technically speaking these two are Lim's.
-
That's just pretty - forget all the photo-related techno-babble, I can't come up with any, I just love this beautiful, clean shot of a beautiful, clean plane!

I am the only one whom this strikes as incredibly tacky? The "sun" taken from a cheap Chritmas card (I could just see the Three Wise Men following that thing across the desert in a childrens Nativity story), weird colours, strange halo around the whole airplane where the attempt at blending in the 2000 flushes coloured sky with the airplane failed miserably... And what is that thing on the wing? Looks like a discarded hairnet or something...
Then again, this is just not my thing - perhaps I just don`t "get it" as my primary interest is in photography...
