1.
Thanks Howard. I had not seen him in glasses previously.

 2.
Howard, nicely framed crisp shots but I couldn't find the actor. Oh well. I rummaged for and found a pear tree blossom from the springtime. Might have posted it before.

 3.
Patrick S... Could be, he just got married:)

 4.
A 1966 Corvair Corsa with a just married decal on the door.

 5.
Got a low shutter count 40D so the moon was drifting by...

 6.
Played with the image in PS6 then blew it up in Genuine Fractals denoised in Neat Image then shrank it back to about the same size as original. Don't really know if it is what you want and not a good practice for all wedding pics.

 7.
Ummm... Let's see. If the average wedding takes eight hours (including the reception) and there are 800 photos and it takes maybe 15 secs to review each picture then that's 12,000 secs or 200 minutes to look at the whole package. Just for the client to riffle through that many on the computer will take several minutes. I agree with the pros who say that they try to tell the story of the wedding so the number of prints will vary. I have been married (to the same woman) for 52 years and the number of times we have pulled out the album, after the first year, have been few. One of the posters has said it depends on the clients expectations. The display of how many 200 is with physical pictures might be a gentle method to adjust those expectations. Just sayin...

 8. Mukul, tried the white point adjust and it did perk up the colors. Thanks.
 9. Patrick, if the pup is like my daughter's Lab mix in 6 months it will be significantly larger.
 10. Last week Howard said "Back to PN 1.0, I see, and the flurry of comments on 2.0 on last week's thread have disappeared. It'll be good to have the chance to evaluate a beta site before the next set of changes are implemented." I have been using computers since the late '70's. My skill set is limited to what I need to do such as word processing, occasional simple spread sheet, before retirement power point development, and material tracking data bases. I was struck by the need for HP to constantly update the operating system of our in-house 16 bit mini computer (state of the art at that time) and use the selling point that they would be no longer supporting the old system. I would say to them that the old system didn't need support because it didn't fail however the higher ups always wanted the latest and greatest. I finally ended by telling my IT guy to run the new version in background until the bugs were out of it. After retirement health issues became a regular thing. The medical digital system has been through at least four upgrades after which it was necessary for me (the non medical trained patient) to review the prescriptions at every checkup for correctness. They were never completely correct. This is far more scary than a public fun site having IT problems. I think PN tried to have a beta site for users to exercise but it was not easy to use. If this were resurrected with easy access, it might be beneficial. This week a hawk landed on the powerline next to our house. All I had was the HX1. Sony shots needed here! Post up to 3 with largest dimension no larger than 700 pixels.

 11. Lastly a grasshopper not hopping and not on grass.

 12.
Howard and Hosteen, good pics. I get fascinated with the hummingbirds at our feeder. Those great bird pictures posted on PN are made more impressive by the difficulty in catching these kinda bad shots.

 13. Saying "If it needs instructions, its not programmed correctly" may be a good theory but it is a bad practice. PN 1.0 had a search function that I used many times. The help button on Adobe software is vital when doing a new process. All of my digital cameras have manuals. At a minimum restore a functioning search box. I tried to use what was on PN2.0 but it did not respond with the right info.
 14.
Thanks for reverting until the kinks are worked out. PN 1.0 is much faster where I am now. I would suggest a "how to" tab on the fixed 2.0 detailing how to find familiar threads.

 15. Dieter, I Googled the USAF X1 and found that it has an ejection seat! Don't know when to use it. Maybe just before impact?
 16.
Patrick, my daughter has a 1/2 Lab 1/2 Poodle which has been a great dog. Yours probably will be also. I still have the "beercan" lens that you (more or less) talked me into buying ^^. I very much enjoy the pictures in this thread.

 17.
I have Sony A100, purchased new, which has the desirable external controls for most adjustments. It has a loud shutter release but it does take the old Maxxum lenses. My 50mm backfocuses, but the kit 18-70 mm lens, a Sigma 28 to 105 and three other Maxxum lenses and do not. A100's are fairly low priced but the A700 and and A900 have higher full frame (no crop factor) resolution. They are pricier. Check out the reviews of potential buys by searching (camera name) review. At ISO's of 400 and lower image noise is good.
