    'Brown' Black Bear

          6

    Hi Glenn,

The bear wasn't too pleased to see me, hence the look, but there were two National Park Wardens behind me (probably the safest place?) at the ready. I only managed two shots before it ran away into the forest. Thanks for looking.

    Hi John,

Nice shot, I like the composition with the circular star trails and the circle in the field at opposite corners. I liked the colour versions of your night shots better though, maybe this would be better in colour?

    Snowy Owl

In the winter these birds come down from the arctic to Alberta, Canada. I found this

one on a power pole before it landed in the field. If you didn't know it was there you

would have missed it. Thanks for looking.

Nice shot, I like the contrast between the birds and the dark water but I feel it is a bit over saturated especially in the reds, they look very vivid. Compositionally it is good, do you have one where the two birds in the middle are not touching, I think it would look better if there were separation between. A nice shot otherwise.

Great shot Gary, I really like the cool colours, not like the typical sunset/ sunrise. I like the tree branches on the right but find the tree on the left is distracting, I would have liked to have seen the stack more clearly.

    Day Break

Daybreak in the Canadian Rockies. I experimented with grads to hold back the light but

I prefer this shot with the intense light coming through the mountains over the lake.

    Thanks for looking.

From my first outing to photograph the northern lights. Wonderful

evening out with the lights and howling Coyotes. Thanks all for looking.

  1. Great shot, I love the lighting. I am not too sure about the angle, doesn't sit right with me. Do you have one from a higher viewpoint, only to see more of the shadow shapes on the background. Great portfolio as well.
