He adopted us, would sit on a lap if invited, lie quietly nearby while we worked, and killed (and presented) rats that got into our attic.

One feature of the Z8 seemed very tempting: pre-release capture. If it works properly, it should be a huge aid in capturing the decisive moment. Just days ago, I wondered how long it might take for this feature to trickle down to a less costly, lighter camera. Then I saw the Zf announcement which includes pre-release capture. The dials-based interface is fine with me. I intend to purchase a Zf as soon as more user reports come in and any major bugs are fixed. Ray Bradbury (below) may have had a better expression a moment earlier. I'll never know.

My wife's father, age 95, lacked the mobility to go bird-watching, so I've been photographing birds for him.- 20 replies

A member of the Steinbeck family is looking for the copyright owner of a photo of Ray Bradbury with author Thomas Steinbeck (son of the perhaps better known John Steinbeck.) She would like to publish the photograph in a book, and can only do that with permission. She believes the photo was taken in 2003 at the Santa Barbara Writers Conference, in Santa Barbara, California, USA. The photo has a 4x3 aspect ratio and shows Bradbury in profile and Steinbeck facing the camera, wearing glasses which have significant reflection. Steinbeck is sitting on a red bench, next to a tan fedora. A portion of Bradbury's wheelchair, which he used for years before his death, is visble. The background consists of two red curtains with a set of portraits between them. If this sounds like a photo you have made or have an idea as to who might have taken it, please let me know. Thank you.
