  1. <p>You've gotten excellent suggestions, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned this: you probably want to avoid Nikon's 40mm f/2.8 AF-S macro for DX cameras. Because the focal length is very short, you get little working distance between you and the small things you are trying to photograph. This can things difficult if you need to add light, to avoid blocking existing light, and if you are photographing insects that will go away if you get too close.</p>

This will give you a <a href="http://camerasize.com/compare/#440,495"><strong>comparison of the Df with Nikon's D7100</strong></a>, its largest current DX body. You can also see a comparison of the <a href="http://camerasize.com/compare/#193,495"><strong>Df with a current Nikon film SLR, the F6</strong></a>.
