For cheap films I go to "Be Foto" (www.befoto.cz - only in Czech). Cheaper then Foto Skoda. For example they have Ilford Pan 400 for 70Kc - Skoda has it for 85Kc.

Hello,
Thank you for all the responses so far.
The stripe doesn't appear on the first exposure nor is it on a frame that would sit long adjacent to the hinge. I took several more frames shortly afterwards. So it doesn't look like a light leak to me. OTOH - today I went to the Canon service and they said the shutter is working fine. I left the camera there for CLA just to be sure but even the servicemen could not tell me exact cause of the problem.

Sorry, <a href="http://www.project-syndicate.org/film680_029.jpg">here</a> is the photo.

Hello,
am I correct in assuming that the vertical stripe on the attached photo is due to a shutter problem? It appears
only on one frame of the roll, which was exposed with my AE-1.
Also it doesn't seem to extend towards the eges of the film.
Thank you

Don,
really good pictures. I like the colors. What film did you use?

Hello,
any opinions on this lens and on how it compares to Canon zooms (35-105)?

I have a RB. I noticed it only with converter.
-
Yes it appears on film. Unfortunately, I do not have an example at hand to post right now.

Hello,
I acquired the afore mentioned teleconverter together with other equipment. I'm noticing a strange problem with
it. A noticeable dark strip (ie light loss) along the top of the frame. It becomes as I focus closer. At maximum
belows extension it is quite pronounced.
Anyone here is using this teleconverter.
Thank you

Is Fomapan 200 really available in sheets? I once (few months ago) asked Foma directly and they said no.
-
-
Foma still makes films I think you confused it with Forte which went out of bussiness. However in LF it makes only Fomapan 100. Fomapan 200 is available in 35mm and 120.

Hello,
about a year ago I bought some expired E100G and E100GX. I'm scanning it on my
Nikon LS9000 and it is __very__ soft. Does anybody else found this film unsharp?
Can it be because it is expired (2005)? It was in the freezer all the time.

Hello,
I went to local Canon authorized service and they said they could fix it for cca $50.
So I'm ok. No way, I would not dare to repair it myself.
-
I tried what you suggested and the lens is indeed broken. It doesn't step down at all. Shame, I discovered that after a day of shooting with it.
I don't know how it happened. It is not so long I was shooting with it without problems.
That is quite unfortunate as I probably won't find a serviceman that would fix it.

Hello,
is there some reason why I cannot cannot stop down the aperture on 80-200/4L
for DOF preview (mounted on T90)?
It works with my other lenses.
Thank you

I'm happy I'm not alone. My EI for Acros is also 25. I tested it with densitometer and that is what I got. Developer XTOL processing in JOBO CPP2.

<p>I'm really astonished by the Magnum's description of the "Prague spring" of 1968:
"Czech reforms that emphasized freedom of the press, <b>consumer goods</b>, and democracy."</p>
<p>It is probably very telling of todays sentiments but I don't think that consumer goods were that much on anybody's mind back then.</p>

Roger, did you shoot them at EI800 (Canonet highest ISO setting)?
-
Moreover it was shot with a digicam. Look at the exif.

I think I like Ilford "Smooth Fine Art" paper. Not that I would have a very broad experience, but this very moment I compared it to Hahnemuhle "Photo Rag" and it has better dmax. At least that what came out from my Epson 2400, using company supplied ICC profiles.
Otherwise my favourite paper is Hahnemuhle "Fine Art Pearl", but Ilford's "Smooth Pearl" is also a good choice - and is cheaper.

Hmm, it worked that way for some time. Then, don't know what I did, it "locked" - could not suddenly cock the shutter or fire the shutter even in emergency mode and the red indicator was on.
Then, after me fidling randomly and hopelessly with all the controls, it started to work again.
I red the manual I thought I undestood it. But here I had no idea what was going on.
Anyway, with the holder the red light is on whenever I try to fire the shutter. No matter whether the dark slide is inserted or not.
-
Hello,
I purchased used Mamiya rz76 equipment. My problem is that I can't fire the
shutter. The red light indicator is on as if the dark slide was inserted even
though it is removed. The shutter will fire in the emergency mode.
I presume that the fault is in the holder?
Thank you,
Jiri
FP4 in XTOL times for best scanning
in Black & White Practice
Posted
Hello,
density of 1,35 for zone VIII is too high for scanning. As mentioned above you want CI, which is comparable to the CI appropriate for a condenser enlarger. That would be a density of about 1,15.
Use an advice given above by Lex: rate FP4 at about ISO 64 and adjust your dev time.
