I have not much to add to the made comments other then that I agree in it being a wonderful image. I also enjoyed the rest of your portfolio, thanks for sharing!
  1. Being partial to these kind of manmade landscapes I like this picture. I have been planning to go to an industrialized area for a day of picture taking for ages... good reminder to go and do that. Only thing I noticed as 'not right' is the make of the car. Somehow a Volvo seems out of place in this scene... maybe a rusty Oldsmobile? It's interseting to read the discussions. I think most of us here at Photo.net often feel 'the need to stretch myself a little photographically speaking' as you put it. It's nice to be able to do that and get feedback on the stretching.

Anyway, thanks for sharing this picture!

Excellent picture and nice story. I'm with Mike here; I like how he's sitting on the dividing line between light and dark. I also like very much how the trashcan makes the dark more somber. The sunlit chairs for me represent the community he is still part of. Again, excellent in my pov.

Excellent use of foreground, but you already know that of course. I like how the picture is not perfectly straight, that gives spontaneity and life to a picture that otherwise might be a bit formal. Thank you for sharing!

Wonderful smile Alex! Nice B&W. In a perfect world I would have loved to be able to just see an eye of the girl on the left, but nice picture nonetheless! Regards, Nick
  2. Wonderful expression and a fitting title, although I prefer to let the interpretation of emotion to the viewer, thus giving the picture that little bit of extra mystery. Great picture nonetheless! Regards, Nick.

Funny thing... I'm browsing your photos and for some reason this thumbnail just jumps out at me. Can't really say why other than that it is somehow just exactly spot on right for my senses. And then I read Kent had sort of the same experience with this picture. Funny thing! Anyway, great picture David, and wonderful portfolio, thank you for sharing it!

Another Candy Store visitor right here; started 2 years ago this month. I really like the Candy Store way of looking at this process we are going through, never thought of it that way!
  3. Hi Paul, good to see you again and thanks for dropping by on! This new effect is rather interesting I must say. I'm not sure if I like it more then I would the original, but it's sure new to me! Thanks.
