The wall hides the unknown into which the woman goes. The backlight hightens the suspense. Lines on the ground guide her along. Only the foot of the cain puts this pic in the here and now; icing on the cake.

A house of mirrors, but with unity in it's diversity. I like it!

They wave right back at you Jack, but without the camera. Nice one!

Most people wouldn't see the photo when passing this scene. But you did, great capture!

Painterly!

I too was immediately thinking of Nighthawks. Lovely mood and am glad you left a little context on both sides. Again, lovely.

Hi Jack, nice to see you!

When I see this picture I see the world as it was before humans roamed it. Very primal, never had that with a picture, very well done!

The old panels in their habitat. You looking at people looking at paintings. I'm fond of these type of meta pictures. And those three groups on the bench with the child not seeming to belong to any. Well done!

The church of industrialization, of power and wealth and of coals and steam, lays derelict after its pastor got hooked on silicon and the wayward congregation chose the wide road, filled with shiny cars.

Hi Marjolein, great to find your work on PN. The quality of your work and the fact that I can relate to the scenes of live and places in it make your portfolio an instant favorite for me. I'm sure I'll return often for inspiration or simple viewing pleasure. Thanks.
We wonen helemaal bovenin Groningen, vlak bij de Waddenzee. Mooi plekje, maar het maakt een weekendje Parijs, wat we graag doen, altijd een flinke onderneming :-)

I'm fond of pictures of people taking pictures. This is a great example. Colors, composition, framing, it all adds up. Nice!

...most has been said about this one. Your pictures are as eloquent as your comments Jack. Thanks.

You have been in Japan so long that your compositions start to resemble that of Japanese paintings. And that is a good thing.

There are few people with your ability to see a picture emerge out of the chaos that surrounds us. Well seen!

Hi Jack, good to see you haven't lost your touch. Thank you for your warm welcome, it's been a while indeed. I plan to hang around here more regularly than I have been these last few years. Have a great 2013!

I love these 3 'Alley' shots Jack. They are great examples of the McRitchie School of Photography; little gems found in unlikely places. This one in particular is very attractive with the verticals tied together by the chain and that great splash of blue. Eye candy!

Dali was also the first thing that came to my mind. That goes to show how much collectivity there is in the way we look at the world. Nice picture Jack!

You need more sky, you need less sky, what's a man gonna do!? Leave it just the way it is because it's exceptional!!

Congratulations on your POW Jack. I would have to agree with you when you say you wouldn't have selected it for a book, but still, a good excuse to do a little re-roaming through the rest of your portfolio...nice!

Michael,
Wonderful picture and that frame works really well. You're choice to make it off-white gives it very natural feeling. Thank you for sharing it.

Nice one Jeff, I like how you kept the tone of the chair somewhat subdued.
