Any comments would be most appreciated. This was taken with my 135mm

prime at f2 and would be interested in any advice on how best to use

    it.

    Best wishes and many thanks,

  1. The truly great pictures are great because we don't know why? They make you stop and think and look that little bit longer than usual, and then they make you return and stare again. I don't know why I find this picture great and I don't want to, I just know I'll be back and stare a bit longer again.

Look at the volume of comments, speaks of greatness to me.

  2. That's why I am a vegetarian. Shoot more like this picture Sir, powerful and disturbing and will lead to more converts.

I agree, no one was saved and no one will go to paradise. Smile on a dog.

    Dear Ken,

The answer is very well, I live in London but worked in Tokyo for a while and this reminds me of being there. However, take away the faces and the picture could be anywhere, so job done.

I just love the ubiquitous Burberry handbag in the shot, gives the Japanese away everytime.

All in all, an interesting and lovely shot, one that makes you stop that little bit longer than the usual passing glances we give photographs. That's what makes good pictures, great pictures.

    Best wishes

Loads of them, Soho is the funky place for food and booze (used to be seedy and where the strip joints were). China town is good for food (cheap) and so is Covent Graden (Palms Brasserie do nice food but not cheap).

King's Cross St Pancras is even more impressive outside and worth a visit (looks like the Houses of Parliament). Good views of London can be got by walking over Westminster Bridge and walking allong the river (down to Tower Bridge). St Pauls is another amazing piece of architecture and the O2 arena is worth a look for modern stuff (get the river boat or tube there and not the bus, that can be dodgey). Make sure you also go to the British Museum (my hospital is around the corner) and the Natural History Museum (the interior is always in films), amazing places for pictures. London is a great place for photography but as I work here, all I want to do is get the hell out at weekends for my chlororphyll injection.

I look forward to your snaps Sir.

Happy New Year Old Boy! Jeff this is an enormous crack that has been placed right through the Tate Modern Art museum in London in the sake of art. The Tate Modern is actually an old power station.

I don't know how they did it but it's really quite impressive. I guess you have to see it to appreciate it.

    All the best,

This type of picture goes down well on Flickr but this is a site from

real photographers so I'll pitch my stall here and accept the flak.

Any comments most welcome and very much appreciated,

    Best wishes,

    Kev

  3. Hiya Pete,

I have a pair of these who scan my garden and take an unhealthy interest in my cats! I am reassured they wouldn't take one but the sheer size of them makes me think twice.

The testimony to this shot is that I haven't got one worth posting, excellent work Sir.

    Best wishes,

Beautiful portrait of a beautiful animal. It is great shame that upper-class in-bred morons in my country feel the need to rip them to pieces with hounds.

    Thanks for sharing, 7/7 Sir.
