Shame the background isn't in focus too, they eye wants to inspect the hills as well as the inhabitant. Quite good, though.

Cute gaze from child, but I found the DOF too narrow.

I bet it doesn't corner as well on the trolleys....

I love the high contrast. It's almost like IR film.

What a cool pic. I hesitate to critque, but I think the following two things would have made it even better. 1) Perhaps not cropping the archway, to let it frame the pic itself. 2) A bit of fill flash would have lent a little more detail to the bottom of the dress. I love this pic though, I'll be keeping an eye on your work.

Interesting concept, but the on-camera flash is a bit harsh. Can you reshoot with side lighting?...

Yes, I totally agree, and it's something that really bugs me about this pic, but it was a matter of "this is the time of day you've got" and "this is the angle". Although I have some other pics at a better angle, this is the best for composition (aside from that). Cheers, Sean.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I thought it was an original concept. Some others that don't like the aesthetics have put the original rating down to 2.
Let's face it, it's not a pic you'd put on the wall, but it tells a story. How some raters can claim that this picture is 'very unoriginal' is beyond me - people are not rating with their brains - if it's not a pretty face or golden sunset, it gets a 2/2 - they show their own lack of insight into the rating system...bafoons.

Someone gave me a 3 for originality?..... A seven-year-old reading a book whilst standing on top of two poles taller than her at the top of a carpark entrance is unoriginal to you?....right....

For my daughter's school project.

Sometimes were are the spider, sometimes we are the fly...

Nice one. I like they way it seems to be floating mid-air with no stem. Nice detail on the flower, and good motion capture of the flying insect.

I love the angle - it's very urban-groove. Nice use of out-of-focus background with pure and sharp foreground. I love it.

A very quaint, lithographic feel to it. I like it.

I like this series. Professional whilst being casual.

I like this pic - she's not a normal fashion model - she looks very fit. Interesting lighting, dramatic pose.

This pic captures the battle between fashion and comfort. Well done - it tells a story.
