Those that still use some film ....
pjmeade replied to RaymondC's topic in Casual Photo Conversations
I go through perhaps a roll of BW a week and a roll of colour film every couple of months. It's largely for personal satisfaction, I've only had a few film images printed in the last few years. -

Here's a single shot I took before going into London to see the lights.
5D3+24-105
<a title="Fog" href=" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/1/374/31612184201_49792576f8_c.jpg" alt="Fog" width="800" height="533" />

On a daily or weekly/monthly basis how is your photog?
pjmeade replied to RaymondC's topic in Casual Photo Conversations
I'm in my science writing time of the year just now, so I 'm not taking too many photos. Out of office hours it's dark or dull. I'll take my camera into London to see the lights, but may just be carrying some dead weight. -

It's been the time of year when I can see the sun rise behind Windsor Castle ~8 miles away. On one day, I had the sun directly behind the castle, but there was so much atmospheric distortion that the images were really unpublishable.
Shortly after the sun rose over the castle, the aircraft flying into Heathrow went across the disk of the sun and I was able catch a few. Once again, the low level of the sun lead to gross atmospheric distortion, but I'm presenting one here for interest.
The two long range shots were taken with a 7D2+100-400+1.4x and the landscape was 5D3+24-70/4.
For the sun disk shot, I added a Hoya ND1000
<a title="Sunrise over Windsor Castle" href=" src="https://c7.staticflickr.com/6/5472/30926012750_f1a04bd966_c.jpg" alt="Sunrise over Windsor Castle" width="800" height="533" />
<a title="The last sunrise of autumn" href=" src="https://c5.staticflickr.com/6/5801/30968382100_c80daf86e5_c.jpg" alt="The last sunrise of autumn" width="800" height="533" />
<a title="Eclipse" href=" src="https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5798/31039213680_b9081926d6_c.jpg" alt="Eclipse" width="800" height="533" />

Here are a couple of shots from last weekend's trip to Wittenham clumps in south Oxfordshire. The first is a four minute exposure of Brightwell Barrow, using stacked Hoya ND8 and ND1000 filters on a 5D3+24-70/4 IS. The second one is from when I looked behind my back for a moment and saw the sunburst.
both have been processed using Silver Effex Pro2
<a title="Wittenham Clumps" href=" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5783/30796766545_8f7dea4b0e_c.jpg" alt="Wittenham Clumps" width="800" height="533" />
<a title="Wittenham Clumps" href=" src="https://c4.staticflickr.com/6/5616/30708174651_de5ccc06b2_c.jpg" alt="Wittenham Clumps" width="800" height="533" />

Can you identify these WWII aircraft?
pjmeade replied to tom_halfhill's topic in Casual Photo Conversations

I was slow on getting into this thread. Happily, I came up with the same answers as others.
A very good site for identifying aircraft is this one http://www.airhistory.org.uk/gy/reg_N53.html
-

These taken at Lord's Cricket Ground and were shot on Ilford SFX200 on an EOS 1v+24-105 using a Red 29 filter.
They need a bit more editing, but I'm planning to submit these two to a cricket photography competition.<a title="A day at Lord's" href=" src="https://c2.staticflickr.com/9/8244/28957359593_c3d99cd115_c.jpg" alt="A day at Lord's" width="800" height="532" />
<a title="Going off for Lunch" href=" src="https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8101/29500408231_16155fe2da_c.jpg" alt="Going off for Lunch" width="800" height="534" />
