    And now... we go...!

Excellent photo! I don't think I've seen a street photo of yours that I haven't liked a lot. It's almost as if you're always in the right place at the right time to capture the perfect moment. Along with that, your post processing is consistent and very good. Very well done.

I like this a lot. You've photographer such a precious moment in time - the loving interaction between mother and child. Nicely done!

Henk, I really like the post processing technique you've used on this image. It makes it look more like a drawing than a photograph. Beautiful work!

    Wild rose dreaming

Wonderful detail and light. To me, the light sets a somewhat dark mood which seems appropriate for the rose that is beginning to wither and fade away. Nicely done!

The colors are absolutely wonderful and the dark background makes them stand out even more. DOF is really nice as is the detail you've captured. Beautiful work!

The discoloration around the mouth and eyes really make them stand out from the white fur. The framing of the pooch is quite unique and I feel it adds positively to the overall look of he image. Nicely done!

  1. That's quite an interesting flower and you've done well in capturing its beauty. Good focus and light and you did a wonderful job at blurring the background. Nicely done. Enjoy your new lens. I own the same one and like it a lot.

At the f stop you're using the DOF is only 0.08" at 18 inches. By using an f stop of 6.4 you can double that depth. You'd also need a higher ISO setting to keep your exposure time low. I've just begun using a macro lens myself, and there is a bit of a learning curve.

If you have an iPod touch or an iPad, you can download an app called SimpleDof that will show you what the DOF is for the settings and lens you're using. It's really a handy app to have.
