Happy face or Hot face, well, doesn't matter.  A well captured portrait and I particularly like the soft lighting that accentuates that fuzzy little head.  Scenic views and pretty girls I can take or leave, but dogs I can't resist...  Mike

:-)  My Father's Day card from my daughter and grandkids said (with a cover picture of a dog)....  "Dad is Dad spelled backwards"  and inside  "Love, the god".

Fine colors, beautiful face and tongue! Well inner framing with those bars which are not recognizable exactly!

Best regards Tony

Fine dog portrait, excellent Nose and Tongue. :) Good detail and natural color. Framing is a bit unconventional, but I think it works with the, er, informal pose.

Of course, you would have better Eye-Cue™ if you had not used the same antiquated camera that I use.

The discoloration around the mouth and eyes really make them stand out from the white fur. The framing of the pooch is quite unique and I feel it adds positively to the overall look of he image. Nicely done!

I am a little behind with my responses but I am highly appreciative of your visits and kind comments. This poodle is a fairly sizable dog, is one year old and belongs to my son. She is energetic, hyper active and she simply does not remain in one position for long. When she lies down she seems to pant even faster.

Anyhow she loves me and I love her too! She has finally settled down to not wet her pants when I arrive at the house (*_*). I was trying to get some shots of her in the backyard and due to her activity I practically gave up. I sat down and I peered through some outdoor furniture and saw this pose. I grabbed it and by the time I got up to try and get a better one, she was gone to grab a stick.

When she wants to play, she will approach me, whimper and then issue a small growl if I don`t comply. Then it is a chase with her taking giant leaps in the air and turning on a dime. Gets my blood circulating again.

By the way - it was taken with my Nikkor 70-300mm VR. The left out-of-focus furniture had a bright spot but I darkened it.

Lovely!  I like the framing , which leads my eyes to the focal point -- the tongue -- wet with a droplet towards the end and wet hairs around the mouth.  I had two poodles-- one was a rescue and so wonderful.  The other was brilliant.  This dog has soft eyes.  Nice that you caught the textures of her hair and the feel of vibrancy.  Excellent that she is so active.  I liked your description of her when you meet.  She makes me smile.

Great capture Tony. It appears she is resting from her activities. I imagine you had it as warm as we did!!! The family must really enjoy this lovely friend.

Mike - That was a very interesting and creative card you got.

Joscelyn - Thanks.

Tamara - a friend who is a dog show judge here in Montreal invited me to take a few photos because he was writing an article for a Dog Magazine and wanted a photo. The one they printed was quite mundane. I got to do some free photography and got into a dog show free.

PDE - glad you liked it. Thanks for visiting.

Dominick - every once in a while I need to break the ice with a different image.

Les - Eye-Cue - you sent me scrambling to google and now I am slightly more educated.

Mark A - thanks - when I first viewed your images, I realized you are a dog lover like many of us.

Pat - glad you found it cute.

Donna - you made me laugh even more re the `greeting`.

Gail - she is indeed a good family member. One day while babysitting I snuck into a small room where my son`s computer resides so I could check photo.net. Cleo gently held my granddaughter`s hand and led her into that little room.  My granddaughter said to Cleo `you wanted me to say hello to Grampa`. I and that dog are going to have a serious chat.  (*_*) .
