Thanks all for the thoughts. I think the difference in tonality came from the white balance setting to artificial light with natural daylight reflecting off the top of the car. Regards

A heavy crop to what I thought was a mediocre pic at best. I doctored

repeatedly with red/green/blue levels, contrast and saturation. The

results are still dubious imo. Yet it drew more views than the other

flowers I've put up. I'm wondering why. Any opinions are more than

    welcome.

This whole series of Dallas had two purposes for me. One, to see how

my camera acts by shooting the whole set at ISO 1600 and the other to

learn to frame things better. All comments are very welcome

Thanks Zafar and Harry. Sometimes I shoot impulsively without taking enough time for a proper setup. This one I left uncropped. But on some of the others, what I saw in the viewfinder didn't translate for me later in the computer and I found that I had no choice but to crop them. You all brought up some good points. I liked the diagonal skyline but I'm ambivalent about the plane and the gold reflection at the bottom left. Regards

They really do love the water. Its like Paul said. I can look at this for a long time and get lost in it. You have a magic finger on the button to come up with these moments. I wonder too what it would look like in color.

He glows! One feels immediatly how majestic these animals are. I personally (subjective) love the contrast. Its what makes me feel like that hes not in a zoo.

This one was not in an invironment to make him feel good about his existence (or so I felt since I'm not sure if he knew any better)
All your Tigers are exeptional. Regards, Alex

  1. How unusual to see them sitting there like this. Its almost like flock behaviour. I did not know they could be this social and it does make me wonder why as one can't see any obvious prey or even carrion. Any ideas? Wished it was sharper. Were you far away and had to subsequently crop down to a very small frame? In any case a moment well worth presenting. Thanks, one doesn't get to see something like this often.

I can see a crop right at the bill. sort of a 6x6 format. but thats subjective on my behalf. Great shot nevertheless. There is enough light in his face to draw you. Its a great "live" shot. Regards
  2. I see what your saying Sean. I was overly concerned with getting the tip and a good part of the center stem into focus, that I forgot about dof. I'll try again this summer when I get new flowers. Thanks
