Thanks for your response Manu, its made from 1/2 to 3/4 steel sheets in four layers (the first offsetting the remaining three) and its approx. 10ft high by maybe 16ft in lenght.. (I'm not showing all of it).

Thanks Sara, did you mean increasing the contrast? The original camera file may not be good enough to do that... let me know. I do have this in color and I may be misguided thinking it may make a good b+w.
-
Thanks Sondra, I like that there's no wow's and "beautiful"... I want stuff like: a little too much contrast, did you mean to blurr out this... you must have salvaged something you liked...(lol) and the like. Don't be afraid to tell me what you would do different. I appreciate a few well placed words more than any number... Thanks

Thank you for looking Sondra. What do you think I could have done better? I've posted this on other sites and had various responses. Some, for instance said I should have repeated the scene without the figure in the frame?

Thanks for having a look Marco. I was wondering wether I made it too contrasty.
It may be nothing special but I sure would like to know what made it below average. There is someone who rates all my stuff 3/3... Must be that cozy warm feeling of annonymity and the overwhelming desire to make sure their friends (and reciprocal) get exposure!

Its a nice street shot Manu. Its well exposed and composed. A little heavy-handed on the frame maybe. I've looked at the pages of who gave you your 1/1 and 2/3. While they have some nice shots in there and even a few excellent ones, I've also found meaningless, out of focus and stamp-sized images that made me wonder why they're there. Like Denis's :
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2900874 and
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2799984
or Duncan's:
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2411478 or
http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2337764
The 4 mentioned above are with the exception of one all smallish stampsized, out of focus and blown out. At least they've rated your material directly. Many others, including myself get almost immediate annonymous 3/3s. Also, the current rating system allows guests and folks without contributions to rate annonymously without having to take any responsibility for their actions. Regards

Fantastic mood!!!

compelling picture. The half b/w with the "red" sea works well for me. Regards

Very calming and serene capture. The kind of place where I could sit forever. The colors are excellent. Mui bien! Regards

my friend, this is most decidedly a falcon

It's that my father took the photo, not me. I can't take credit for something I didn't do. It just an exhibition of old mountain climbing pictures I wanted to share. Hence, no rating just comments.

Thanks all for your interest. Funny how a throwaway cam can sometimes deliver a decent pic for the scrap album (lol).

Another attempt at creating a b+w from a color pic. Outside of very
basic functions, I have very little knowledge with post stuff. I've
just now discovered masks but still don't know how to use it really.
I am using Jasc Paint Shop Pro. Should I switch Adobe?
