  1. Well composed. The lines in the sand draw the viewer's eye onto the mountains. I think a darker sky could give a better look to the image. I also think this particular image would look good in B/W.

    Ice Castles

Beautiful image and indeed looks like a castle. The light on the foreground icicles nicely contrasts with the rest of the image. The barren tree in the background is a tad bit distracting but it adds a sense of scale to the image. Well done!

  2. Was fortunate to view and photograph Sunday's Annular Solar Eclipse.

Here's a photo montage of a few phases seen during the eclipse. Image

was made using a 400mm telephoto lens with a 1.4x teleconverter plus a

    solar filter for the Sun.

This is my first attempt at capturing a Solar eclipse and I could've

done a better job of making sure all the phases were exposed to the

same tonality. Critiques/comments appreciated. Thanks for looking!

  3. Beautiful composition and soft colors make this a good shot! You have framed it very well with the multiple lines (the water, fence and the tracks) leading the eyes onto the subject. Congrats!

    Havasu Creek

    Thanks Wanghan and Carol!

Havasu Canyon is indeed like a magical place. The color of the water is unbelievable and the beauty of the place is to be experienced.... pictures only do scant justice! I hope you get to visit, one day!

    Havasu Creek

Shot in Havasu Canyon- a unique amalgam of red rocks, blue-green

waters and green foliage. Had to set up my tripod in the water to

shoot this image. Critiques/comments requested. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. Happened to visit Havasu Canyon a few weeks ago!

The falls used to sport twin chutes of water until a flash flood

altered the flow nearly 4 years ago. Nevertheless, they still remain

very picturesque. Critiques/comments requested. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Thanks all for the kind comments!

@Wanghan: I got lucky on my second evening. I hope you'll have "great light" when you go there again!

@Alf & Daniel: You're absolutely correct. A little more space for the tallest tree would have made this even better. But, it wasn't possible: I shot this from a wooden bridge and at the widest focal length possible with my Tokina at 11mm.
