Voightlander or Leica Lenses on a Sony a7xx Body
Emmanuel Enyinwa replied to Sanford's topic in Leica and Rangefinders

I will always swear by my Leica 135 2.8 Elmarit, a relatively cheap Leica I picked up a few years ago for $400. The bokeh and focus are smooth as butter. The Voigtlander lenses, though, especially, the APO-Lanthar, are generally considered sharper. I find myself, however, falling in love lately with Nikkor lenses adapted for my Canon 5Ds, especially the 85mm 1.8, which I got for $80 and the Micro-Nikkor 55mm 3.5, by far the sharpest lens stopped down that I have used for flowers. We are living in a golden age where you can pretty much adapt any lens to any camera with a cheap adapter off Ebay.
-

The Abduction of Helen of Troy.
Emmanuel Enyinwa commented on Emmanuel Enyinwa's gallery image in Flower
In Greek Mythology, in a wedding in Mount Olympus, Paris, Prince of Troy, had judged a beauty pageant between Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, and a return for awarding her a golden apple inscribed "to the fairest," Aphrodite promised Paris the most beautiful woman in all the world. During this time, it was generally agreed that this "most beautiful woman" was none other than Helen. Problem was Helen was married to Menelaus, king of Sparta. But, why let a little thing like abduction of a married woman get between a celestial promise? After concluding a diplomatic mission to Sparta during the latter part of which Menelaus was absent to attend the funeral of his maternal grandfather Catreus in Crete, Paris ran off to Troy with Helen in tow despite his brother Hector forbidding her to depart with them. Invoking the oath of Tyndareus, Menelaus and his hot tempered brother, Agamemnon raised a fleet of one thousand ships according to legend and went to Troy to secure Helen's return, and a little boot, to boot; the Trojans kinda thought they had a right to keep her, especially as she was now known as "Helen of Troy", a moniker she was to keep until my high school days when I had to slog through "The Iliad" by kerosene lamp late at night as mosquitoes buzzed around my head. 'Course the Greeks had an answer to Paris, the same answer George W Bush had to Saddam Hussein in 1990, except that even though the Greeks won this war, the Trojans actually won the historical coolness battle. After all, she's still Helen of Troy (I just checked again), and there was still "The Trojan Horse", even though the Greek built it and sweated it out while the stupid Trojans dicked around with it for who knows how long. Today, there are a million "Trojans", including USC, even condoms, whereas Greeks are just famous for yogurts, dates, and Yanni. -
