  1. A good subject, but I find the leaves in the upper left hand corner and left hand edge distracting otherwise I this a very nice B + W image.

A good subject that could be better IMO. The topmost part needs more space between it and the top edge. Also if it were mine I'd crop out the background horizon on the R H edge. The shadows are some what distracting from the rock detail but you had to take the light you were given.
  3. You've captured a great subject and mood but I believe it would have more impact in a portrait orientation by cropping out about a third of the image from the left hand edge.
  4. Hello Alf This one doesn't work for me. The foreground reeds are distracting me from the really nice background which could easily work on its own. I do like the mood you captured.
  5. The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) is state bird of Michigan. Your comments appreciated.

    Wonderful capture - wouldn't change a thing..
  10. Very nice capture, wouldn't change a thing.
  11. A very well done capture somewhat hindered by the Tightness of the beak to the upper edge.
  12. Thanks to all that commented Specifically Andres, Alf, Jim And Tony for the observations about the tilt and edge margins. This is an older image of mine that I've printed and have had hanging in my home and in several galleries and I never noticed the tilt or the uneven edge margins - that to all for pointing this out - the master copy has been modofied to reflect the changes.
  13. A male Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) perched on a handrail at a nearby metro park. Comments appreciated.

  15. The inclusion of the partial tree in the lower right corner is a distraction for me.
  16. Taken in Omena Michigan, on west Grand Traverse Bay. The remnants of a lumbering pier on a quiet summer eve shortly after sunset. Your comments solicitated.

  18. Yellow Lady Slippers captured in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. A grouping this large is not common in this area. Your thoughts appreciated

  20. Hi Tony, a great subject well composed and exposed. The power lines bother me more than the fisherman. Wouldn't be hard to correct that.
  21. A wonderful capture! I especially like the color of the bud. I'm not sure the blank space adds anything to this image. Sometimes less is more.
  22. A stunning image as is Craig! Well done. My mind keeps wanting to see it slightly brighter though.
  23. Very nice capture in wonderful light. If it were mine, I'd crop it a little tighter on the RH side to eliminate the sliver of background between the tree and the edge.
  24. A wonderful image combining a good subject, great composition, great light and color - well seen and captured!
  25. Nice capture Tony but I think the detail in the LLH corner is distracting and agree with cropping it horizontally out. For a totally minimalist image, cropping out the sky detail in the ULH corner would still present an image that could stand on its own. A lot of times less is more.
