Nice minimalist touch. I like also the ripples in the water that add to the repetition and rhythm of the image.

The only think I can think of would be to maybe leave some space to the right or the left of the wooden stakes to give the image more negative space.

A very attractive image in any case.

I like the simple yet effective composition. Rather than allow more negative space as Andres suggested, I would just ensure even space right and left by cropping a small amount from the left, another small crop from the top would then concentrate the viewers eyes on the parts of the image that has most impact, the vertical posts and the slightly diagonal ripples.

Very well done Kenneth!

Really nice composition but to my eye everything is tilting down to the right. This could be quickly corrected in PS - Select/all/Edit/transform/distort and then play with the boxes on the four corners.

Amazing shot. I really like the interplay of vertical and horizontal lines in the foreground and the horizontal lines and subtle clouds in the background is great too.

Hello Kenneth, it has been a while since I visited. Let me start off by saying that I like image very much which is in keeping with your stated photographic principle of keeping the subject and the composition simple. You placed the posts in a central position - and it evenly splits the the foreground  with large blue ripples which contrast to the smaller ripples in the background. That works for me.

For your 2nd shot, I agree with the recommendations made by Alf and in that case, I would have lowered the camera placing the posts much higher in the image while increasing the amount of space that those blue foreground ripples occupy.

All the very best and keep up the fine work.

Thanks to all that commented

Specifically Andres, Alf, Jim And Tony for the observations about the tilt and edge margins. This is an older image of mine that I've printed and have had hanging in my home and in several galleries and I never noticed the tilt or the uneven edge margins - that to all for pointing this out - the master copy has been modofied to reflect the changes.
