1.
Yes,e**y is the place where I got it.Works like a charm, although it takes noticeable longer to have a 35mm film cut with this contraption, than it takes with my regular Zipslit.

The edge of Minox film ,when cut using this cutter,is much more smoother and straight.Although I will not use it on a regular basis as my film slitter,I will obviously put it to work every now and then.

 2.
Hi Murray
The item just arrived in my hands today.Guess what?It's a 35mm to 9.2mm film slitter!No doubt about it,just cut half a 35mm length...edges are smooth and straight.You get 2 x 9.2mm and those 2 strips with sprocket holes,each side.

It doesn't say where or who made it...I would be very happy if anyone here would help me identify this piece of Minox hardware.

Looks like this is my Xmas gift for 2010 :-))...and a nice add to my Minox collection it is!

00Xsx0-313011584.JPG.b7455933f2d83eee36e95b5457a70583.JPG

 3.
I know they are scarce and hard to come by,therefore see this link here.I bought some, and they are as described, very good items.Lot of 12 pcs per buy,in their boxes.Looks like they are all coming from a color lab lot.
PS-I do not have any relation with the seller. However, since these are showing up rarely,I thought this would be helping our community out there.

 4.
This item is part of a Minox lot which I've purchased recently. It is not yet in my possession,so I cannot describe exactly how it works. However, the seller says that this lot was purchased in Japan, and he was told this item will help him "trim Minox film"...whatever that means. And yes, seller claims this is a genuine Minox item.

Anyone knows anything about this slitter/trimmer?Could it be a genuine Minox product?I mean,I know Minox manufactured and sold a Minox film slitter, but it is an altogether different build and design.Could it be an aftermarket 9.2. slitter from 35mm ,sold together with Minox cameras and accessories? It could be so,since looking at the front cylinder,I can see 4 distinct strips:two in the middle same width, and 1 on each margin, smaller width. This sounds just like my Zipslit cutter results, where 35mm is split in 4 strips,2 of 9.2. and one in each side, where the sprocket holes are.

Any reply on the above will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Regards,

 5.
I believe I 've figured some stuff by trial and error:

The flash setting of the lever is clearly indicated by the flash sign,on the speed dial:-))))...eagle eye 's my name:-))).
The speed is to be set AFTER the cocking of the shutter. This was,the dial wheel stays put,no movement.
Not yet knowing how many positions for the take up spool ,so it will not be too full with film.

 6.
Hi Martin

Seeing you are the ultimate authority on Edixa 16 here on our forum, would you be so kind as to clear these issues up for me,please?

1.The milled wheel for EV setting has a life of its own,and doesn't lock properly when I want it to sit tight on a exact EV number. This happens regardless of shutter being cocked or not.(well, see nr 3)

2.Reading the manual,it is not yet clear to me what is the right position for the change lever thingy (you know, the one that is supposed to switch the shutter to 1/30,and un-couple the shutter/aperture)...where should the lever point? right or left? The manual says "towards the end of the camera"... :-))More specific :switch left or right to set 1/30 ?

3.Is the shutter speed to be set before or after cocking the shutter? It seems if I set the speed after cocking the camera, the wheel (see nr 1 above) moves a bit stiff, which it should do ,methinks. It is so annoying that the wheel seems to be moving under the influence of a spring:I set on nr 8 for instance, and it doesnt stay there...has the tendency to turn towards the large numbers(right).

4.I loaded the camera today with some 80 cm of film.I followed your advice and just put it in,without any cassette. All looks well...however,by the time the take up roll is filled with film,is the take up spool well large enough to accomodate the whole 80 cms length ?

Sorry to bother you with these childish questions, but it is important for me,and the net doesnt give much info on this.
Thank you so much for your time and patience on this, much appreciated !

Kind regards
JT

 7.
Murray,it beats me.I cannot even remember if the shutter was set on A or not.The whole image gives an eerie sensation,as you said..."funny".

The image recalls memories of when I was experimenting with IR film:-).The same "out of this world" feeling, like those scenes from LOTR,when the Nazguls chase Frodo.

As I have said,it beats me.Film remaining in the cupboard for so long, high temperatures we had down here this summer,whatever...Thing is ,only this shot is presenting itself this way.The other frames are ok.

This one bellow is part of the same film, taken in the same day,in the same park.Nothing unusual, but this is perhaps nothing was in motion.

Re if this is only part of a negative,no.This is a full frame of 8x11 film.

00XXr0-293699584.jpg.2f64a4d227bb1307af63ef3ec70d647f.jpg

 8.
So I took a few days and visited the local natural park. With me,2 Minox cameras,a C-loaded with Konica 400,and IIIs-loaded with Rollei 25. The rapid you see is part of the park attraction...and I snapped a few shots with Minox C.Back home,I just chucked the film in a cupboard and forgot about it for the last ,errr,5 months.Today it was processed. I have never expected such an image...looks out of this world,I believe.Any thoughts ?

 9.
Ian,I also use Joe's slitters and they do work great indeed.I have recently bought 2:

35 mm > 9.2 mm (4 x 36 exp. strips)

35 mm > 16 mm (2 x 50 exp. strips)

You may want to use this 16mm for your Pentax 110.I know it works perfectly with my Edixa 16.However,respooling unperf 16mm in 110 cassettes can be a pain, but patience pays indeed.

I'd say give it a go.On how to actually cut your film, respool and such, there are tons of information here.Feel free to ask,I'm sure someone here will help.

 10.
DAG is indeed my one stop repair shop of choice.Busy as a beehive, but excellent workmanship. Some delays as expected,Don is indeed very busy. However, every time I sent a camera,he informed me on its arrival and gave me an estimate of costs, together with the description of the camera fault(s).

I would suggest some patience, and I am positive your camera shall be sent in due time. And remember,it is always much better to ask Don first on a time frame estimate. We are many Minox users or collectors, and Don is but one of the few(very few)Minox repair craftsmen.

 11.
2010 spelt a bad omen on my Minox cameras...2 EC,1 A/IIIs and now a C are KIA.The EC's and IIIs are already with DAG Camera, and Don is doing his best.
I want C to be given a serious overhaul, but I do not have the time to send it to the US.Anyone here remembers or has on file Mr.Andrew Britton's address or phone nr?I recall something like :Dean Cottage near Andover/Cambridge,but that is all.I would need the full address or phone in order to contact and see fi he's willing to take on this C.
Thank you for your help! And a Happy St.Patrick's Day,for all you Irish folks here!

 12.
Tony,at lest two Minox tanks are on sale on Eb*y as we speak.Current price is 5 EUro for the first one,and some 25 EUR for the second tank.Run a search on other sites (i.e. Eb*y.de,Eb*y.it ),for Minox tank and you may get one of these cheap enuff for your Minox home jobs.I do not believe the postage to Australia would be prohibitive.
Have a look here:
13.
Hi all

I have just replenished my film and chemicals stock,as follows:
=========================
FILM
Rollei ATP 1.1 (ISO 32)
Kodak Imagelink (ISO 25)
Agfa Ortho (ISO 25)
Efke KB (ISO 50)
Efke KB (ISO 100)
CHEMICALS
Rollei RLC Document Developer
Spur HRX-3
R 09 (Rodinal variant ?)
=========================
I have used some of these combos in the past, but cannot recall the proper processing data.I would appreciate if anyone will help me with starting points on any of the above films/devs.

Martin,I have already your Minox Processing chart.Shall I consider Techpan rated 25 similar to Rollei 25?
As I intend to use most of these developers by your "recycle "method, please advise on any issues you may have encountered using any of the above combinations.

Thank to every one and all for your help on the subject. All the best!

Kind regards,
14.
To conclude this posting:apparently the fault lied with exhausted batteries.Popped yesterday some fresh LR44(a tad thicker than LR43/AG12 same voltage though).I already went thru a whole film without any problems.

Thanks all for your kind support and help.

Kind regards,
JT

 15.
Steve,Adox 25 is not Minopan 25.Agfapan 25 is similar to the long-gone Agfa APX 25,so they should share the same processing data.

Assuming you meant the "Massive Development Chart" from DigitalTruth.com,the data regarding your film is under "Unlisted data" link. Here you have it,and Tmax is listed as a choice to process Agfa 25:

http://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php?doc=apx25_old

Hope you'll sort this one out, good luck.
