I found the expressions on their faces very poignant and thought the

    blues conveyed a distance.

    thoughts and comments greatly appreciated.

Excellent framing of the subject. Great use of the rule of thirds. I could possible see a touch more sharpness and the right eye is a touch dark but as a whole I really like the shot.

Hey Kim! Long time! Wow... I really like this shot. Before I click on it I actually thought you had some weird aquarium going on. Then I read what you did and I was amazed. Fun creation. The tones are really nice. I'm always a sucker for the blues and greens. I'd hang this on my wall for sure.
  1. Thanks so much again Matt. Yes, this was shot on the same day. I agree on the title.

Yes, getting rid of the background is a HUGE pain. It often pays off though. I always end up with a hand cramp though lol. Using the mouse for such detail work hurts after a while. I've tried those pens and tablets and just can't get use to them.

WOW! Several new comments all on the 21st. I wonder what happened on that day to garner the new attention. :-)

Thank you so much for the comments guys.

Funny how because I knew the setting it never occured to me that this wasn't a summery shot. lol. Without a background I definitely can see some confusion on the title. Although, few things say summer to me more than bare skin with overalls on (and trying to take them off on top of that! LOL!)

Good catch. I will have to consider that. I think this shot has been "Summer Boy" for so long in my head it would be hard to change the title. lol.

About the cropping, I use photoshop and yeah... the back of the head is a bit rough. I do typically try to use softening when cropping but I'm not sure what my process was on that. I might have to go back and give it another go cause now that you pointed that out it does look a little rough to me.

thanks so much for taking the time to comment!

  2. WOW! Great shot Vince! My wife and I did the ride up at 4am to catch the sunrise way back in 1998 on our honey moon. We will be back there in March of 2008 for our 10 year. Although, I'm trying to convince her that we should go to Kauai instead. lol.

Beautiful colors man! Great shot as always.

  3. WOAH! What a great shot! I LOVE the patterns and how you blacked out the surrounding area. Very cool shot Ken.

Good to see you (or at least your shots) around again. I've been so darn busy I've had little time for shots. I got some shots of the kids at the beach and have posted one or two from then but haven't had time to upload more.

    Best regards,

WoW! Wilson gave a really good analysis of the shot.

I will be much lower key... lol.. fun shot! I Like the childs lip all funny looking. I do agree with Wilson's comments.

I enjoy the shot overall. Good seeing you (or atleast your work. lol) again.

    Best Regards,

    Joe

  4. Hey Alec! Just droppin by. I see you are up to your old "panoramic ways!" LOL! Nice colors. On looking at it large, (which I always must with your shots :-p ) I notice an ever so slight hue change between the two. Apart from that it's a beautiful shot. Always nice looking at your stuff.

    Best Regards,

    Joe

Good shot! I started playing when I was six myself. Looks like he's doing a bar chord which at 7 is WOW! Tell him to keep at it! Not enough music in the world. :-)
