Yes I should have been more precise in my first comment. Keep posting and good luck with your work !

I think that you are absolutely right about the lack of focus in my portrait. But what is of interest in your portait above? Left part is dark, highlights blown out and an attempt to make it original by leaving the right side of the image in color which is only calling for attention without adding anything else than a really annoying detail. So what is really left of interest ? Now, you asked for critique by posting your image, and got it. If cant take it, dont post.

As we have eyecontact and they are out of focus, I dont think this portrait works and the colored
background is competing with the main subject.

Difficult to know what the main subject is. Suggest a different angel or getting closer somewhere, or why nor both.

I wouldnt say my own experiments photographing my guitars are the greatest but you are welcome to take a look. Regards. Walter

I like it but I think it could do better without the can and brush. Walter

Very efectfull, and a very good composition that is a bit awkward with her moving out of the image but also making it interesting. Walter

A tear fell and froze on my cheek. Like the "poking out " too with its spidersweb and all. Cheers ! Walter

Thanks for your comments David. You were wondering what I think about your "catpicture". Sorry but it is not my cup of tea. I like the black shadowlike effect on the orange wall. On the other hand, the flower is annoying me and too little happenning
in the left part of the picture( I think the stone is unnecessary ) and I also would have liked a bit more foreground. Regards. Walter

I have only made a short visit to your portfolio so far but I now have a shortcut and will be back. I especially remember your winterscenes, liking them a lot.Being painteristique they also bring memories from a couple of weeks in Quebec snowsculpting in the end of the eightees. Yes, I did meet Le Bonne Homme De Neige ! Walter

Strong portrait ! Cheers ! Walter

Lighting and compostion is stronger, more dynamic
in this capture but the all black surface to the left is destracting me.Like when you are playing rythmically ( It has got rythm )soft and in a groove and then loose focus and hit the strings to hard. The surface belongs there but is out of tune. Nice cat anyway. See You! Cheers! Walter
