this is coming late, but i'd like to see this same photo with the fill flash. perhaps even just a little reflected light on the model's face, so as not to detract from the rest of the photo. great job.

thanks for the observations, that's exactly the type of thing i hope to hear from the forum. since i can't go back and re-shoot, any leaving out of the sky would have to be done in the computer. maybe i can use this as an educational tool

MY GLACIER PICTURES WERE TAKEN ON A "DAY TRIP", IE THE MIDDLE OF TE DAY. THEY WERE ALL MUCH MORE BRIGHTLY LIT THAN THIS. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF STUFF HIDING IN THE SHADOWS OF HTIS IMAGE.
  1. the cropping does help. So far, I've tried not to touch up my originals. This is one of hte photo I saw fit to print. Most end up in a carousel, or a green or yellow box. thanks for the comments. I'm enjoying the education
  2. now that it's been poited out, i can see how fill lighting would have balance the photo a little better. the background though, would not be suitable as a "professional" backdrop. i do not know if the image could be improved in photoshop, I'm too new at the digital stuff. it looks pretty good when shown through the projector though. thanks for your comments
