This is an old bridge across the Ohio River that planners in the
area would like to tear down. They have run into a little snag
though. It turns out the rare Peregrine Falcon uses it as a home.
Personally, I think it fits the town it serves. Ironton is a river
city that was established in the early 1800's. It contains
architecture from just about every era the US has experienced, and
this older bridge is just part of that broad history.

A local to this small town told me about these cannons when I asked
about where the good photos were. He explained that there were four
of these at this memorial cemetery, and that the iron for them was
manufactured right there in the town. Surrounding it are the
headstones for Civil War soldiers burieds there. I saw an irony in
the fact that this gun was there with them. A sort of cause and
effect. It was a quite sobering experience.

It is about a 3 hour drive (one way) away. I get over that way a few times per year. I will try to shoot something in the morning next time.
Thanks for all the great comments.

This is a picture of an over-exposed moon, taken around midnight.
There is also a reflection of the moon, which is caused by the
Skylight filter I am using. You can see details of the moon in the
reflection. This was a 6 second exposure on a tripod using a remote
trigger. Comments are appreciated.
