A local to this small town told me about these cannons when I asked

about where the good photos were. He explained that there were four

of these at this memorial cemetery, and that the iron for them was

manufactured right there in the town. Surrounding it are the

headstones for Civil War soldiers burieds there. I saw an irony in

the fact that this gun was there with them. A sort of cause and

effect. It was a quite sobering experience.

Nice idea. I'd like to see the opposite, with the focus on the canon and the graves out of depth/focus.

I don�t know but for me the old cannon placed in the center, is very distracting. I would have put it down and opened trees in the background.

I agree with the odd placement of the canons at the cemetery. What could the planners been thinking? Certainly a thought provoking photograph.
