looks almost like a studio shot with the beam of light coming in. I thought it was a folk or country singer until you had death metal in your description. Great shot. Would love it even more if he had his eyes open
-
a bit too much space at the top and would be better if she was looking down so you could see a bit more of her face
-
its tough to get gig shots with the singer looking down the lens and thats what i think makes this shot

a photo i had orginally ignore that when i enlarged it actually
looked pretty good, an alternate view of what you normally see
watching a band play. I know it's not one of my best ones but if you
want to give it below a 4-4 then at least have the repect to say why
you don't like it or what i could have done better. thanks

the idea is great but this picture doesnt show it off as well as it could. a better flash, a lower crouched shooting position and tighter cropping would produce a better result in my opinion
-
imho you could crop some of the top of the empty space
-
its the standard old canon kit lens
35-105mm 4.5-5.6
that pic was taken in a huge venue for a major act so they had huge lighting rigs which made my job a lot easier in getting some nice tones
-
don't know if it's just the scan but seems a little out of focus despite being a creat photo
-
only alteration is a slight contrast and brightness tweak, cropping
and adding the border, otherwise it's as it is on the negative
-
don't like the effect on the hair but good idea
-
like something you'd regularly see in a music magazine, well done, maybe clone out the security guys heads. they get in the way in every possible sense for concerts for us photographers
-
man in the background is a bit distracting but i like the overall feel of this, concerts in the daylight are hard to capture an atmosphere of the music
-
like so many gig photos, lighting on the face is a little poor here but good framing and idea here

nice idea, would maybe be better with a smaller depth of field and just the cat in focus
-
don't scratch your negatives. concentrate on taking good photos to start with

I reallt like it. only fault is i would like to see it without the bottom cropped off
-
when it's only red light it's very hard to get something interesting out of it plus it makes it very hard for autofocus to work
-
the vividness of the flames and the contrast between the colours of the shutters & the wall make this really tragic event seems a little surreal. great photo. any others which inslude the full house?

Was photographing Muse, see the other pics in my portfolio or on my
website, and the lead singer came to the very front of the stage,
inches from me and my camera, so got this shot off and it's one I
really like.

for gig photos you'd be beeter off using at least 800 if not 1600 film.
try and take pics when the band are closer to the front of the stage to avaoid all they dry ice and smoke

good shot but colours look very strange. i tweaked colours and contrast and compare my edit to the original:
