In my very humble opinion, the subject would gain the expression you're after when lit by direct sunlight revealing its texture and all the 3D-like features. Any chance you can return to that location at a different time of the day? Sure enough, a more suitable film and development can help increase the overall contrast of the scene, but the statue sunlit would be a delight to view. Just my 2c... Regards, Tomasz -

Software: PhotoFiltre 7; Shot on Ilford Pan 100 35mm film devved in Mr. Crawley's FX-15. Negative scanned. Slight corrections of contrast and gamma applied.
