  1. I particularly enjoyed browsing this folder - you show the diversity of the Pacific Northwest so well. I was lucky enough to visit several years ago, and stayed on the San Juan Islands, Lake Crescent and Kalaloch on the coast, but from your photographs I realise there is so much more beautiful environments still to experience! Thank you for sharing.
  2. Interesting subtle colours, I'm not sure if this is your manipulation or not. The tones of grey though help divert attention to the patterns, so it doesn't make the photo boring. My only negative feeling from the photo is that the centre of the roof does not match up with the centre of the photograph. I'm not sure if there was intentional or not, but it does make this composition seem a little off to me.

It's interesting how the decoration of the material, especially the top piece, in a way reflects the ornate-ness of the building on the left. An unexpected way of marrying too very different sorts of buildings, but the photo works well.

Nice work. Compared to the black background, this is my preference. It seems more natural and the way the colour of the bud and the tops of the flowers are reflected in the colours of the background is very special.

    Hibiscus Colours

This hibiscus was unusually bi-coloured, apricot and yellow. I took

some photos of the whole flower but found they weren't very interesting

photographically. But I think here the extra yellow works well to add an

extra splash of colour to this photo.

Any comments are welcome and appreciated. Thanks, Lucy

  3. I actually took this photograph several weeks ago but didn't feel there

was enough to hold one's interest. But the more I look at it, the more

beautiful I think the colours are. Is that enough?

Your comments are critiques are welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Lucy.

I'm starting to find this technique a little cliched sometimes (or maybe I'm jealous!), but this this case with the spiral flower center and star shaped radial pattern of the whole flower makes best use of this pp-sing technique. I like this a lot adn the dark background in the center and edge makes the 'stars' glow even more.

    Stillness

You have entitled this photograph 'stillness' but have still managed to incorporate a lot of life into this photograph through the bright colour and movement in the edges of the photograph. Very interesting, well done.

    Lonetree

Although the tree is centred in the compostion, it doesn't both me too much as it is so obviously the centre of attention and is commanding the whole scene. It's nice too how the clouds seem to grow and radiate from the tree too.

Thanks for both your ideas, they are appreciated. I agree I could do more work on this photograph, so far I have not adjusted anything, but I did use a grad ND (0.6 I think).

Wow thought this was a watercolour at first! Nice effect. Good soft colours and just the right amount of blur to suit the old street. Only thing that jars to me is the man's bright yellow sleeve on the left.

    Coast

Another view from the coastline by Spittal Pond in Smith's Parish,

Bermuda. The sun is still rising far to the east and so is out of this

frame, but lending some warmth to the left side.

Any comments are welcome and appreciated. Thanks, Lucy
