Beautiful setting and right time of day. I really like it. Only problem I see is that it look like a polarizer was used with a wide angle so the sky is a bit unnatural to my eye (dark in the middle, light on both sides). 6.

Nicely done. I like it with little land. The clouds are called Mammatus (or mammmary) clouds and are spectacular.

from Rhyolite ghostown on the border of California and Nevada. Shot about 45 minutes before sunset.
Thanks for your ratings and comments- Bill

Great shot of Wupatki NM, I like the use of the telefoto and consitions were perfect.

I like it, very strong image with a good subject and great color.
Two things I would change:
1. Horizon is not level.
2. The two palms coming in at the left and top side are distracting, I w9ould have removed them in photoshop with content aware delete.

Thanks for your kind comments. I find mornings very good on these dunes, wind is less and the footprints were blown away from the night before.

Gail - remarkably the word "natter" was new to me so I had to look it up (though I had a good idea of what it meant). There is a famous quote from Spiro T Agnew of all people (written by William Safire) "nattering nabobs of negativism" which fits the picture perfectly.
BTW I viewed some of your work, simply brilliant. Hard to believe though that with all your bright and cheery photos you would have a few days of nattering, guess it gets us all.
All the best - Bill

I agree with the comments about the centering and contrast. Its very difficult to get a good pic of this tree with it off center because of the way it is surrounded by the brain rock. You need to shoot long or the tree becomes taller than the rock to the left of it which seems to unbalance the composition for me. I'll look at it again next time I get there.

Great colors and nicely exposed. Surprisingly I also like the diagonal created by the awnings shadow. I would crop the right side just to the left of the pipe though. I'm surprised this photo didn't get better ratings.

Thanks for your kind comment. Light was soft at best most of the time I was there that day but I was happy with this pic. The good news of the day was that I finally found the dinosaur tracks near the Wave, and also an area called Fatalis Boneyard. The boneyard is superb and warrants a trip back.

Steve - one of those pictures that have different meanings to different sexes. Almost all men think a female is on the left, almost all woman think a male. My wife and I agree to disagree.

Thanks John. Light was maybe a little harsh, also I might frame it a bit tighter next time.
