One of the classical routes in the Alpes covers the traverse of Mt Blanc

du Tacul (4248 m), Mt Maudit (4345 m) and finally Mt Blanc (4807 m).

On your right you can spot the Cosmiques Hut (3532 m) where you

typically rest until midnight, before you start the climb of Tacul. If you

look closely you will be able to follow the trail up the steep mountain

face. It traverses several crevasses on its way. The climb to the top of

Mt Blanc takes about 5-6 hours in good weather conditions. Your

comments are most welcome.

Yes . . . I see the haute route threading around the crevasses. I can almost feel the excitement this photograph conveys. The large version is just wonderful: perfect light and composition.

Hi Per, definitely one I like, perfect light and what is amazing is the climbers

in the front and back, so there is good to see how small we are against this huge mountains.Well done.Regards

Hi Marek,

I really agree with your observations and comments. Yes indeed, man is small amongst the mountains. But it is an incredible feeling to be there. Best regards Per.

Such a beautiful capture. When viewing larger and seeing the route up the steep mountain, I cannot help but applaud you and so many who take up the challenge. An exceptional capture Per.

Dear Gail,

It is such a beautiful mountain, but the ice towers are treacherous and can collapse any minute. Therefore it is normally climbed during night and early morning hours. This is the first out of three mountains you have to climb before you actually stand on the top of Mont Blanc. Thank you for showing an interest. Best regards Per.
