I agree with Didi: the foregroung looks too dark, maybe your meter has been fooled by the high luminance of the bright sky.
-
I like the framing of those four windows.
-
-
The picture is properly exposed and composed. I think some sharpening would improve it.

-
I wish there was some more contrast in the trees and grass.
-
Nice colours and fading.
-
Agree with Michele here, the sand looks a bit too soft.
-
Interesting composition. I have the impression, though, that the feet should have had more "weight", maybe shooting a bit closer so that they appeared bigger.
-
Cute expression indeed, but I tend to agree with most remarks made by Barry (especially the first one). Portraits are not easy as they seem, and I also have a lot to learn about them in the first place!

Now that you told me, I can see your point. Interesting idea, you can maybe try playing around to get more natural sking tones.
-
Maybe I'll steal the idea and see if I can replicate something like it.
Yes, exactly. I always come to Doug's place when I am in search of new inspiration (and peace of mind).

I know the situation was not easy, but it looks a bit too dark in the bottom side.
-
Pleasant image, maybe a bit low in constrast.
-
The grain looks too artificial and does not add anything to the portrait, IMHO.
-
There's a feeling of emptiness here. Maybe the inclusion of a person would help to give a single point of interest to make it easier for the eye to rest somewhere.
-
Good choice of subject for this IR.

Do you think this might have worked better with the person (my wife)
entering into the frame from the left instead of going out from the right?

Interesting how you can see through the two open windows on the left side. Hope nobody lives there anymore, I wouldn't bet on that roof to last much longer ;)
I am usually able to spot a digital shot desaturated to BW, but this one defeated me. Nicely taken and processed indeed.

This is unlike many waterfall shots we've seen on this site. I like particularly the texture of the cold stones. I don't mind the color cast, I think it adds something to the cold feeling...

Again you're playing with the lines of the human body, with people sitting at the bar and you got another winner.
I would have liked to see this one stop darker: maybe the man in the foregroung would have been silhouetted (and thus enhanced the contrast with the other one) and you would have gained also some more detail on the man in the background.

Uwe, thanks for your comment!
Indeed, this was not shot around noon, as you can see from the shadow of the light on the wall (almost horizontal). Maybe it was around 5.30 PM, if I remember correctly. Who knows, maybe a couple of hours later this might have really been better! :)
Lack of detail is something which is recurring when I use my 28mm lens, maybe that glass is just too soft...
