At first sight, a well composed photo with strong lines and highly emotional components. I can imagine that it sells well.
After a second, it is quite obviously a composite with badly merged sky and land, patched in an unnatural perspective.
It is horrible kitsch for me, sorry to be negative. -
I like this one very much. An intriguing set of diagonal lines, interesting shapes, with tension coming from strong color contrast and vignette (?) - the bright center makes for the illusion of a backlight situation, but this was a very soft, diffused light after sunset, with 4 min exposure. Every time when I see such a masterful photo with MF film, I ask myself if it would have been possible to achieve with a digital back. Probably not. You have just inspired me to dust off my Fujica GSW690 :-)

This could be one of our fields around our house. The sweeping lines, with nice asymmetry for tension, and your inclusion of horizontal lines in the foreground, make for a successful composition. The small house adds scale and interest. Very good !

Also my favourite version of this scene, especially the composition has more tension. More contrast is debatable only as local contrast. For my taste contrast is spot on, I would not change a thing. Treescapes are tricky, this is a very good one IMO

This is a great capture :-) Also a good candidate for B&W, IMO

Jeff, Len, and Mike, thanks for dropping by !

Love it :-)

Tells a story and raises questions, very good photo. Maybe I would have cropped a wee bit from the bottom and right, but composition is also nice as is. What I would strongly consider is b&w for this shot (what does color add to the impact here ?)

Pnina and Ruud, thank you !

Another great image from you. No need for a subscription to Geo or National Geographic, seeing your work :-) Your camera point seems to be on an even higher peak there ? Or did you rent a helicopter ... ?

Karl and Alain, thank you !

Ja, so dachte ich das eigentlich auch. Erste Ebene: linear aufhellen.

Gunnar, Peter, and Robert - thank you very much.
Peter, it was not so much works as it sounds. You are right with the grass, looks like hoarfrost. But it was only an anemic yellow-green and the B&W conversion. The halos are barely visible, it is ok for my taste - you have a good eye :-)

Very nice long exposure. Love the wide angle perspective, this and the strong diagonals make for a very dynamic look and feel here, beautiful composition. The pier leading towards left and the sky lines strongly towards right create tension. The only thing I would discuss is color: what does color add here to the image ? B&W is the better alternative here, IMO

This is very good in several aspects. First, it attracts me because I wonder about the story going on here, probably they want to go out of the sun into the shadow, as said above. Or what do they do there ? Anyway, it looks interesting, and mysterious. Then, formal aesthetic it is a nice rhythm, the photo has order and beauty. Tonal range is quite perfect, maybe I would have tried out how it looks with a tad darker - not blocked - shadows, so that you have to search for details there. Hats off for this great B&W.

Well seen, I would probably have passed this scene. The worker attracts interest at once, and because we cannot see what he is exactly doing there, it holds our interest. The snow adds an emotional factor, because we now know that it is cold... A well-built, clearcut composition. The best finds are often around the corner - and you were foreward-looking to have your camera at hand ;-)
-
What about a crop at both sides ? This is a fantastic shots that lives from the formal aesthetic quality, great echo of birds / clouds reflection against the convex tree line. Would focus more on that.
-
I like the half open window for two reasons, first it acts as formal aesthetic element and leads my eyes. Second it makes me wonder about the story behind this scene, makes for mystery - very good.

Your thoughtful choice of camera point makes the difference, between a nice and an outstanding landscape. This really stands out for its order and simplicity, beauty and harmony. I love the fact that the lone tree follows - or hugs - the mountain shape, as said above. The beautiful light and the clean crisp color and detail lets me want to be there, it has enough emotional impact to leave a long lasting impression. A possible alternative could have been a longer FL and darker reflection, excluding the foreground grass (not sure about that, of course)

Thank you all for stopping by !
Lev, it was a bracket exposure series, 5 shots for each of both parts of this square stitch. This was to compensate dynamic range by later merging in PP. Our eyes do this blending automatically. I tried to show what I visualized that moment

A valid alternative, but I prefer the uncropped version.

This is nice because of mystery, by low lighting and ambiguity. Interesting interplay of light and shadow.
