Karl Schuler 48 Posted February 15, 2010 The second day after the lunar New Year many Mongolians visit an Ovoo on the Bogd Khan mountain, high above Ulaanbaatar. They get up very early to be at the top when the sun rises. Thanks for feedback and rating. Karl Link to comment

vikingman 0 Posted February 19, 2010 Another interesting and excellent shot from you Karl. I was up there too on New years day, though walking on the hills behind. We may have crossed tracks! Erik Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted February 20, 2010 Dear all, thank you very much for your comments. Carl, the work horse is the Power Plant 3 which provides electric energy and keeps the houses of Ulaanbaatar warm.Dominick, you have the comfort to look at it from your cosy living room while people like Erik and I are exposed to temperatures below -25°C to witness it.Jeff, I think the lurking book has still to wait some years until my retirement ;-(. Linda, I am glad to know that I have an abiding follower on my journeys. Erik, I guess one day we will meet. By the way, have you been on Wednesday at the Eagle Hunting Festival in Nukht? I followed the internet announcement and went to Terelj where I enjoyed some lonely hills and valleys :-(.Karl Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted February 21, 2010 Karl, please put me on the pre-order list. I really hope that you do it. You have an exceptional collection of images. I for one would love to see them as a book. Link to comment
vikingman 0 Posted February 24, 2010 Hi Karl, ah! so that is what happened. I had planned to go, but something came up and couldn't go at the last minute - i directed some friends to tereldj, following information on the internet. They found no eagles, but like you, had a good day out nevertheless. Erik Link to comment
carsten_ranke 0 Posted March 8, 2011 Another great image from you. No need for a subscription to Geo or National Geographic, seeing your work :-) Your camera point seems to be on an even higher peak there ? Or did you rent a helicopter ... ? Link to comment
