donna pallotta 108 Posted February 19, 2011 so sharp... a tribute to their incredible beauty. bravo for your choices to honor them in this composition. (my only fear, i can't bare animals in closed zoo space; so i hope they're in a naturally reenacted habitat) in my faves ;-} dp Link to comment

jtovey375 0 Posted February 22, 2011 The monumental, timeless stature of the elephant on the right sets up the rest. I appreciate the moment, the structure and the framing. Maybe you could play around with the light a bit, adding a little more to the dark shadow on the left-hand side. Or maybe you have already? Anyway, great photo. Regards, James. Link to comment

carsten_ranke 0 Posted March 5, 2011 This is very good in several aspects. First, it attracts me because I wonder about the story going on here, probably they want to go out of the sun into the shadow, as said above. Or what do they do there ? Anyway, it looks interesting, and mysterious. Then, formal aesthetic it is a nice rhythm, the photo has order and beauty. Tonal range is quite perfect, maybe I would have tried out how it looks with a tad darker - not blocked - shadows, so that you have to search for details there. Hats off for this great B&W. gunnar1664882369 1 Posted March 5, 2011 Tatjana, Jeff and Carsten, thank you for your comments indeed! What they actualy are doing there, I don´t know, probable getting out of sun in shadow. Maybe other reasons, I am not familiar with elephans´behaviour:-). Not very hot day, particularly for elephants. Taken in Valencia Biopark late afternoon. Link to comment
